Nice profit. This number of pips eg 200+ aren't really daily right? when did you open the position? I guess you r on 1:100 ?
*
All trades opened positions on 1-Dec except AUD/JPY on 2-Dec. Leverage 1:200.

been on rollercoaster ride +200 and -200
long term trend still bullish USDJPY
*
I think this rollercoaster ride on intra-day is quite normal as long as the higher timeframe trend is still intact.
BTW, I am also bullish on USD/JPY for long-term trend.

Hi,infant trader here.just opened real account last 2 weeks.so far no luck on eurusd.think im a little late catching the bearish train and like hiyyl said, its going sideways.yet i still have 3 shorts open.u ppl think eur reversal is imminent?
*
Intermediate to long-term for EUR/USD is still downtrend. I would suggest to hold your SELL positions if you have the holding power, otherwise cut-loss.

Im holding in -ve.scared it'll wipe out all my investment if it shoots even further up north from current

That's where money management comes into play. What's your current "Margin Level %" ?

QUOTE(oreomambo @ Jan 8 2015, 02:39 PM)
No, the amount of profit gain in $ is going to be the same in both account if they win the same amount of pips with the same amount of lot size bought.
The only difference is, account with higher leverage is given more runway to buy/open more orders or with bigger lot size with eg 1k USD in fund, compare to the  another USD 1k account with smaller leverage.

I always tell my friends on how to portray leverage like this:

Account A with leverage of 1:500 is comparable to a huge cargo truck
Account B with levelrage of 1:50 is comparable to a mini van.

If you own a transportation business and ferry the same amount of goods for your customer, both of them will give you the same profit (ignore fuel cost). However, Huge cargo truck allows you to stick more goods and therefore earn more revenue.

Hope my analogy helps
*
Great analogy, oreomambo. Thanks.

Need clarification on method of computation of ROI (Return-on-Investment).

Eg. If my deposit/capital is $10,000 and I SELL EUR/USD 1-minilot, thus the required margin is $100. So if upon closing that trade with profit $20 (i.e. 20-pips), what would be my ROI?

Is it based on deposit/capital ($20 divide $10,000 = 0.2% ROI) or based on "Required Margin" ($20 divide $100 = 20% ROI) for calculation?

Many times I have been asked what's my ROI & I really do not know which figure to quote.
*
Interesting question. I hope someone can enlighten us with some comments.

I don't know too, but logically speaking my ROI would be my % gain after a year of trading, lol  tongue.gif
*
And how would you compute the % gain? 1 year total profit divide by ??? to give the percentage figure.

1 year profit / sum at the beginning x 100%  cool2.gif

Or if can't wait for a year, can take a month's gain / initial deposit x 100% x 12
*
So is this "% Gain" = ROI ?

I think It should be okay.. I am play ok in demo only 0.1~0.2 lots

But is it necessary to submit all those documents?
Idk why I dont really feel safe to submit my IC and Debit card num.

please advise.
*
There is no reason to submit those documents if opening DEMO account only? If that is the case, I strongly suggest that you open DEMO account from any other brokers out there, eg. FXCM, IBFX, SwissQuote, etc.
