1 year profit / sum at the beginning x 100% 

Or if can't wait for a year, can take a month's gain / initial deposit x 100% x 12

Ah, sifu has given a good definition of ROI there 

If any of you guys are still confused, easiest would be to go to myfxbook and link your mt4 account there. They will automatically track your gain so at the end of the month / year you'll know your ROI for that duration.

Not taking a trade but I see some compression going on now in the 1 hour chart, which means price is uncertain where to go next. So i think it's best not to trade at this moment yet and see where it goes next. I'm a newbie so just sharing my thoughts.

What will happen? I have to fork in money to make it to 0 or I can just leave it as account burst?

lol just now usdchf from xm i profiting 50++usd then down to 25++ usd so i just close it. after awhile 6pm it up back again. so i think something suspicious. i go check investing usdchf min5 chart compare with xm mt4 min5 chart 2015 1 14 09:55 to 10:15(mt4 time) 2 green candle 3 red candle. before i open another broker hotforex and fxcm check. the 5 candle is below 2015 1 14 09:00 (mt4 time) so f***ing much. then i open fxcm and hotforex broker broker see the 5 candle above the 2015 1 14 09:00 then i think i see wrong then i keep click each other. then something happen! the xm chart suddenly synchronize each other and become same chart. omg am i blind or what?!!!!! but i am sure i am so clear-headed because just finish bath.

That depends on whether you read the fine print. Some do.. and some don't. Now we just have to wait to see what happens next. Most brokers will have negative equity on their client accounts. FXCM has USD225 million in negative equity in their client accounts and working on a solution now.
