I do think it would be easier for people to give opinions if you could post pic of yourself in the dress and gown (neck down ofcourse). Cause what is more important is that it suits your and you look great in it... instead of what it is categorised as...

The thing is... I havent bought any yet. I will be having my wedding in Perak this coming Sept and I am from Labuan. To make it easier , I will be buying my gown/dress online .... xD I want to look good and comfortable during that time. When I asked my fture sister in law if its okay that I wear evening dress on that day, she said, why no gown??? Maybe I should go with a gown....

Usually I see most brides with gown, but still depends on how you look like in it.

Maybe you can post a few images here on your selections online, then we can comment happy.gif

well.. i think it's personal preference.

why dont you do something different? break the norm. Ultimately, it's your night so you should be happy with how you arrange it or what you wear.

i personally would prefer evening gown. way classier and elegant.

I personally will go for gown. Dress is for ROM because it's pretty casual.

Also, whether gown or dress, it depends on how well it looks on you. Gown may suit you; or may not. Same goes with dress. Hard to comment if I can't exactly see how you look like. If u dont mind you can always pm me smile.gif

if u are having it in a high ceiling 5 star hotel - gown

if u are having in a chinese restaurant with low ceiling and onli maybe 5 tables - dress is ok. but gown will make u stand out as a bride. some brides too simple so in their wedding pics, they dont look like the bride, they look like one of the guest onli. so thats the con of wearing a dress instead of gown.

I think a special occasion dress may be more suitable for your wedding dinner reception。
You can see the differences between common dresses and gowns from the links as follows:
