Plot
Piano prodigy, Kousei Arima dominated the competition and all child musicians knew his name. But after his mother, who was also his instructor, died, he had a mental breakdown, while performing at a recital that resulted in him no longer being able to hear the sound of his piano even though his hearing was perfectly fine. Even two years later, Kousei hasn't touched the piano and views the world the world in monotone, and without any flair or color. He was content at living out his life with his good friends, Tsubaki and Watari until, one day, a girl changed everything. Kaori Miyazono is a pretty, free-spirited violinist whose playing style reflects her personality. Kaori helps Kousei return to the music world and shows that it should be free and mold breaking unlike the structured and rigid style Kousei was used to.

Great first episode. Good animation,art,background and music.All aboard the drama train.

First impression. This anime already won my heart. Great.

A-1 wins my heart this time. What a beautiful adaptation.

Watched the 1st epi and straight read all the manga released so far. Good show and good development. Reminds me of usagi drop artwork...

Holy moly latest episode is so intense, and heartwarming. Nearly teared up.

I got a tear welling up, not because of how good it was but how funny it was to compare the arima 2 rivals and the general audience imagination to the usual shounen series villain shouting monolog.

So, next episode Arima draw from the life force of the audience and play Mozart's Sonata for 2 Piano, K448.
Chiaki and Nodame vapourized instantly.
Also the planet is destroyed.

You forgot arima will go to planet namek to battle the galatic piano champion to revive earth.

In the manga is just 3 chapter but in the anime it last 20 episodes!
Side filler is spiky hair guy and forehead girl having to fight Arima's previous enemies in the afterlife.

Best and my most favourite anime this season. Hands down.

No wonder the OST sound familiar and good.

I thought they just do cover on utube only.

2nd place in my emo anime. 1st place goes to ano hana. Haven't watch clannad yet, doubt my heart is prepared for that.



I would say it's a good ending. I asked myself whether kaori surviving might have been a better ending, and honestly, although I would prefer a happy ending more, i guess this ending isn't that bad either. It will make this anime special. and not those other happy ending anime.

you need to watch hotaru no haka/grave of fireflies
also live action Sasara Saya Fucuk I almost cried while in flight.

Nowhere near as awesome as Clannad when it comes to feels.
Quite a roller coaster ride. Grave of the Fireflies is brutal though

ye agree, was good but still far from clannad/air/angel beats

I am not an Usofag but I gotta admit that Kaori having loss the ability to stand and walk during the hospital scene, has more feels than Kanade's nirvana in AB.
I have the same feel watching that scene of Misuzu's trying to reach to Haruko in the last episode of Air.

Open phone become sad lol. Just for one week

First half of the final episode was excellent but second half, the letter reading part was just alright. We get to know that she was there all along. Nice series.
