For CS 1.6: we just have to plug the Network Cable to the router then we can play on LAN.
But tis doesn't work with Warcraft 3.... Is it any setting required to play DoTa on LAN???

Recently just bought a router and just learning about playing games with friends trought LAN.

Not as I know, if you are able to connect to each other through LAN i.e a LAN network has been setup, there is no further required settings.
Do ensure though that all versions of WC3 in each computer matches with each other. |

check firewall. i play dota with a network switch connected to adsl modem. if lan got show if ppl create game or not? if got show but cannot join the creator got firewall on, if it doesnt show at all network settings maybe not correct. my workgroup name is dota... haha
