Wonder what do you think of these kind of floor traps. I have seen a few that can keep out cockroaches etc from climbing out but this one is a bit different in design. It comes in three parts. The plastic cup thingy which is the water seal, the collar that holds the plastic cup and finally the grate cover which you can change around to other design.
It is Sirim approved.

ya man... the conventional types... tikus also come out!!! n go back in the same way the came from.... twice i experienced, staying in two different location. HORRIBLE!

thus, looking into this as well.

dont mind clearing hair. as long NO TIKUS and less possibilities of having roaches

Saw them at Jubin BMS. They work as intended but to fit Sanisco, it needs a narrower neck to seat the plastic water trap cup otherwise it will fall through the 4" drainage pipe. In SG, you can buy the standard 6" floor trap cover with the 4" anti-cockrach drain at any hardware store. For these a very motivated rat potentially can push out unless the top metal grate is screw on lock type. These critters can even climb through WC. The seat cover was the only thing they couldn't lift.

Other others is just normal Silver / Stainless steel with lots of holes (except one in laundry no U trap) . Because I have U trap below no need worry anything can claw up (well if the rat want to swim up I got nothing to say)

These type of design will reduce the water flow rate, if the area intend to use always being wash you will see the water flowing out will be slow down.

Thats what I told the seller that day but he claimed it has been tested by Sirim and had results of the flow rate at their website

Only when really put in use can only judge. Even the one I am using in wet kitchen will lower the flow rate, I remove the cover every time I wash that area (lucky I seldom wash it.)

The one I am using, can't recall how much think was just few buck more compare to the normal stainless steel.
