This morning, woke up blurred, told by the company I applied to that I was highly recommended for the job, start by Friday!... Asked me to collect documents tmrw, and upon collecting, do a medical check-up.

I wish to ask:
a) Does this mean Im offered a job?
b) What do those documents probably contain?
c) What will be the usual procedures?

Cheers for your help guys!! Still blurred

Yeap, means that you have gotten the job. The documents which he meant were most probably the offer letter and such. As long as you haven't signed the offer letter, you can still immediately refuse the job. Once you have signed, then you are bound to their rules and regulations. Read through the offer letter in details. Good luck with your new job, mate smile.gif

WHY izzit such a procedure? isnt it abit stupid? I rather work on the following week to enable me to do some preps

I am actually offered a job with PacificMas ...
I see huge potential in the company, a place which I can develope...
But ... the starting pay is low for a fresh grad like me... though the perks are gud...

Do u think I shud accept?
Or shud I search a place wif higher starting pay? (maybe sacrificing career development?) icon_question.gif

U ask for 1.6k or they offer u this price? u can't request more if this is wat u requested earlier.

if any basic salary changes, the offer letter will need to change also.

1600 for fresh is consider slighly low. But my advise is accept the job and experience urself before going to bigger firm.

Advise u can join first, get some experience, and see if you like the job, then ask for increament after probation, then if they don't give, look for other job lor..that's simple

If you have no other offer, then better to accept this one. Quite hard to find job these days. If not satisfied then you can always find other job while still working there.

p/s: i once attend interview for PacificMas but no news till now.

Good Luck

I asked for at least 1,800... they offer me 1,600... I still said I wan 1,800.... they said their perks (e.g. usually 4 mth bonus!) will cover my RM200 loss...

I dono wat the offer letter will state.. if it states 1,600, can I still ask for more?

If the offer letter states Rm1600, then i dont think you can ask for more... usually u ask for more during the interview...

My previous company during the interview said that i have Overtime to cover low salary... (my salary is above rm1500 and nice to know that you can still have OT)

When started work, i found out that I need to get approval for Overtime, which is the procedure, fine by me. Then they tell me that I can do OT when requested only and not when there are lots of work to be done ontime... So need to work for free to finish pending jobs and no OT... kena tipu....

If you can afford to play along, then go ahead and ask for higher pay. Else, if you are jobless now and desperate for money, I suggest you take the job as it is at the moment. Moreover, make sure you read the offer letter thoroughly before signing it.

Yeap, as mentioned by others, if you have other job offers, play along and ask for a higher pay.

Else if you reject this job and you're jobless, do remember what you lose it RM1600, not RM200 anymore.

Certain companies do not allow us to bring back the offer letter for thorough reading. Ask you ex-mentor first before collecting the offer letter; just in case they really want you to sign in there and then.
