QUOTE(moodswingfella @ Jul 3 2014, 12:37 PM) a lot liao. im gutted when seing alonso, masch leave our club. and still no body can replace them. still remember when suarez come he dreaming to play with torres. but torres gone. now suarez migt gone too, and we yet to find an equal replacement. and with most all of our transfer target kena hijacked, that add a salt to the wound. alonso & marcherano will never be replaced.i doubt suarez will kena torres punya curse. he is like a football witch doctor u know, well maybe thats why he need to bite at least 1 footballer in a year to renew his big bad vodoo so he can keep score. Suarez can single handedly create chance, score and even assist. unlike torres, he is goal scoring machine but he seldom do what suarez did. as its been drummed, the liverpool will never need to rely too much on individuals. (ahem) a system is suppose to ensure that QUOTE(carloz28 @ Jul 3 2014, 04:38 PM) Yup we will save a few more millions, and then we go embark on a 3 season journey to find another potent goal scorer/creator like Suarez, wasting tens of millions in the process. Way to go. whats wrong with sturidge & sanchez combo? This post has been edited by koolspyda: Jul 3 2014, 06:07 PM |

QUOTE(hfi @ Jul 8 2014, 01:09 PM) Lucas has removed all references to LFC on his twitter. Transfer inc. LFC is looking for players that fit into BR philosophy of play. Doesn't necessarily mean some positions require A list players. Many of us are hoping we don't fall into the same situation as spurs when they offload bale.Love him as a player and i still think he's a good player. But his injuries has made him somewhat incompatible to the English league. He needs to play in a slower league like the Serie A. Reckon Reina and Agger will also leave. Can't understand how these players will leave ahead of Johnson to be honest. I suppose they still have values and Johnson hasn't? lol It's inevitable that Suarez will go, with neymar's latest injury and messi getting less playing time due to some injuries, Barcelona will want their man. Sanchez is more or less confirmed heading to arsenal. I think it's pretty obvious (as how our carloz mildly puts it). I won't lose sleep over missing Sanchez (though I would love to see him in LFC red) BR knows there are weakness in lfc's players position. He mentioned that last year, he is looking at players where it offer or fill the requirements to play his formation. A big whole change will be difficult as it will take players to play LFC style This post has been edited by koolspyda: Jul 9 2014, 08:44 PM |

QUOTE(whitesabre @ Jul 11 2014, 12:22 PM) Very true. It's the attacking system that caused our defense to fall at times. It's ntg to do with the defense. And I agree 20mil for a one-season wonder is stupid. Lovren 20mil?? He's only good last season against weaker players. I remember our team destroying Southampton with him in it. If he couldn't handle our players, can he handle Man City? Don't think so. we will seeBuying Hummels will be a better choice. Irregardless, I notice BR only focuses on buying unknown players. Markovic is not that great imo. Buying players like Lambert, Origi and Lallana is stupid. 4mil + 10mil +25 mil = whopping 40mil. Could have spent Shaqiri (proven international stage and UCL) at 15mil, Manzukic (again proven international and UCL) at 15mil, and 10mil elsewhere. Sincerely speaking, I believe Lambert will be a flop like Aspas, Lallana will be the next Robbie Keane, and Origi will be Borini. BR is good, but he has no UCL experience and does not know how to handle 50-60 games a season (UCL + League Cup + FA Cup + BPL). It's no wonder Sanchez doesn't wanna come. They have players like Ozil, Giroud, Mertesacker and many more. Ours? Pure English. Only Gerrard is proven worldwide. Sterling still new, Coutinho barely known, Suarez gone, Sturridge in England, Henderson normal stuff. I just have the feeling we will flop next season. there are camps that stand firmly behind BR purchases, some of us has doubts. thing is BR's (supposedly) dud failures are relatively 'cheap' & won't be seen as a huge terrible waste or will be scrutinised 101% as did of rafa's buys I don't know, I think BR need to step up to better tiered players. Some of his linked have always unfortunately been trying to pinch his ex team (swansea) players. It either seemed he is play it safe (purchasing players) manager?? I know some have said previously rafa would support/bring spanish players to Lfc, why can't BR do the same with english (ex swansea players)? |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Jul 11 2014, 01:17 PM) I can see the past trasnfer only Struj and Couth are successful where the others are either flop or send to training with other teams. The jury of BR transfer still out there since last 2 season he only sign mostly peanuts players like Asaiddi, Aspas, Borini, Allen(exp a bit) , Shako (our last seaon marquee signing). due to lack of trust of FWS in BR transfer windows strategy. Until last season where BR finally show them the potential of the team might challenging the top, they need to support BR to sign more players and this time it's not just peanut 10m ish players. it's 20m ish players. he (BR) has signed on for another 3 seasons extension (or was it more?)BR is in break or make season now. If he can continue bringing LFC forwards with more glory then he is really a new LFC legend. Should he failed, he will be in hot seat very soon. so i thnk FSG is supporting. It is BR himself that he needs to stepped up the sights on players (though i seen it appears some of such players shun lfc. not sure its the manager caliber. I don't think the not in champions league is a (real deterrent) factor given a somewhat big team too is out of CL yet is able to lure players in like honey |

QUOTE(reehdus @ Jul 20 2014, 11:09 PM) You guys are all waiting for that 'marquee' signing, that game changer that's never gonna come wey. BR is strengthening the depth in the squad. Henderson, Coutinho were nothing when they came to first team. Sturridge was probably pretty similar to Remy. I won't hold my breath for a marquee signing at LFC for the coming season. By the looks of it, we probably will play exactly like last season, all out attack, with a little tightening at the back in playing to plug goals scored against us. Yeah we finished 2nd, but many people still look at that as a flash in the pan. Until we can prove that consistency then only will we attract bigger fish. But for now, we have to continue strengthening with little known names. We won't be able to replace Suarez, I don't think BR is looking to directly replace 'Suarez'. He will have a play that we won't /have to rely on the likes of Suarez. The responsibility of scoring goals will be shared by all. (It's tough to replace Suarez amount of goals, we all know that) Everyone will think we might do a spurs coming season but some will point that be did succeed in a way without having the services of Suarez in early part of the season & several big games. Some hinted that perhaps BR can be the new wenger (younger) [cough] I don't know, maybe BR can do it, FSG seems to think BR is capable to do it. Even ex LFC players are in full support that BR will be able to achieve it, and hopes all LFC fans to will support Rodgers. YNWA |

QUOTE(lcy851031 @ Aug 4 2014, 10:16 AM) Before vs MU match, come out the news FSG could had hire LVG as sporting director, but BR manage to convinced FSG owner to turn down this idea. We were linked to LVG way back when the seat was vacant. (prior BR)The plot get thickens. LVG flatly declined to be linked. offering no interest at all to take it up even if FSG were to offer. so the latest news are just media trying to add 'story' to something non existent |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Aug 4 2014, 01:36 PM) Yeah medias... that's how to do their job to earn for living, spinning news. Like how to linked BR to buy MB when they asked BR how's he value on MB. everyone wants to sell a story.FSG & BR has been consistent as to so far on our buys (transfers). We have always been linked to a marquee signing or and ever since luis suarez departure, a 1 on 1 WC or near WC replacement. we can just turn back the page, BR is brought in to build for the future, there WILL be no BIG marquee signing. potential to be one, yes. it will interest rodgers & FSG. Someone posted the list of average age of Liverpool. We are probably averagely very very young squad amongst the top half if i'm not mistaken. Liverpool will bore the hell out of the medias this season as there is no suarez incident(s), no drunken/no instigator/no prankster amongst the squad that might light up front page to sell. It pretty much Rodgers wants no distractions, just football. mario? he is capable to get himself a red card by just turning up for a match. i don't think rodgers will consider such risk. |

QUOTE(reehdus @ Aug 4 2014, 03:44 PM) eh i've been seeing a lot of positive comments about emre can lately. mcm mana his performance in your opinion? i suppose there will be some tweaking to be done. understandable.Only last season we almost ran from the blocks, we were traditionally 'slow' starters. We'll see when the league starts, i don't look to much into pre season games, its better the younglings/fringe get some decent games ahead to impress. |
