QUOTE(genjo @ Jul 1 2014, 01:38 PM) True but the mirror is a pretty reliable source I reckon. http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-li...tar-14062798738 Funny how it says we can offer him Champions League football when it's said he'd be loaned back to Lille and there's no guarantee we'll be in Europe the following season. |

Rumours are that they are considering a bid from Man Utd for Vidal around the $40 mil mark. If this goes through, they'll have the cash to buy Shaqiri for sure.

Matts Hummels is an ideal target. Bloke is an accomplished defender who can bring the ball forward. He's quick and he reads the game well. Chances are he'll stay on at Dortmund but Man Utd and Barca are rumoured to be after him. Reports suggest that the mancs will offer Dortmund a $20 million pound take it or leave it offer. If they we should bid above that. He's a better option than Lovrens.

So its adios Suarez. Here's the thing. It didn't matter that players like Roy Keane had intentionally hurt other players and it's subjective which deed was worse. To me it was about the image of the club and our relationship with sponsors. In the end a couple threatened to pull out and some wanted to hold talks. The club had to make a business decision to let him go and it was the right was as far as I'm concerned.

At this point I'd trust Rodgers with transfers. He may have signed "stupid English players", but in the end, he did take us to 2nd last season. Don't forget also it isn't just about signing big players, it's about adding to the depth of our squad since we'll be playing in 4 competitions next season. A player like Lambert was brought in for cup competitions, not to score a hattrick against the likes of Barcelona. Lallana on the other hand would be expected to make an impact on the first team.
I suspect that major signings will only start happening now as selling clubs would have been holding out until after the World Cup in hope that their star players would have a good tournament, causing their values to inflate. This post has been edited by Duke Red: Jul 11 2014, 12:08 PM |
