Tried to buy direct from Motorola. Had my credit card billed but order did not go thru.

Apparently, they further verify your billing address.. Any non US billing address on the card will be rejected. A quick chat with customer service they will lift the charge

Anyway, I've just paid and registered for BuyForMe service with comgateway. They charge a 10% service fee. Let's see if they can get it for me and then ship back to KL. Getting 2 units

Btw, it's back ordered to sept 19

Yep, I've just got my shipment of 3 watches via fedex today.

Got a friend in US to buy them

No tax from customs. Direct clearance upon landing this morning

It's been a pain in the ass to try to order from Motorola. And after all the hard-work, we finally managed to order them. Geez, Motorola
Yeah, motorola won't accept any orders without a US credit card. And they even instructed comgateway or hopshopgo not to ship the watches outside US if ordered thru them. Crazy hogs!

But one can order via best buy.com now, they are in stock. Try to use US vpn to complete the ordering process, ship to the US warehouse and then send back here.

Yay, COD time. biggrin.gif
I think no one will. It's a pretty baby, selling it is a waste.
Or you can buy ready set. Bro megat has it.

Agreed there. Had the watch for a couple of weeks already and loving every minute with it. Android wear and the Moto 360 is a pairing that makes a lot of sense. Practicality meets beauty.

From the calls, SMS and Whatsapp notifications to google now cards and ok google commands, they are beautifully worked. A little clunky at times but its heading in the right direction.

Not unless Moto 360 2nd gen is launched, I don't anyone will want to part with the moto360 now.

I think iWatch has a lot of catching up to do against android wear

Wow great... Now..spamming on off to trigger the OTA update.

Someone has posted that you can trigger the update by going into settings, system updates. When you see the message 'your software is up to date' , continue clicking on the message until it triggers the update.

Good luck. Mine was done automatically yesterday morning so I didn't get to try the above

I remembered somebody in this thread or the smartwatch thread asking, does it make sense to pay so much for a watch just for notifications??

After a month with the moto360 or more particularly, android wear, I can tell you not only does it makes a lot of sense, it's going to be indispensable once you are on it.

Seriously, after the disastrous and gimmicky galaxy gear, which I hardly wore more than 2 times and promptly kept away and eventually sold, android wear can only get better.

Not unless you held the phone with your hands everytime even in idle mode, The rest of us keep our phones in the pockets or clutches. It is indeed cumbersome to whip out the phone on every notification, especially when one is using a phablet.

Android wear addresses this beautifully for the user to either ignore, invoke or respond to the notifications as one deems fit.

I've been using android wear to
- get early notifications on weather, sports news etc from google Now the moment the watch is switched on and connected
- gets estimated time to office based on traffic and suggested navi route
- gets messenger and Whatsapp notifications, where I could ignore and swipe away, read the full message and then reply via google speech (which has been quite accurate)
- gets traffic info and time to my next destination
- sends text to a contact list with a dictated text
- review my to do list and create notes on the fly with google keep
- and of course, the ability to change watch faces based on my mood...

I've disabled some fit apps as I don't need them but more apps are being made compatible with android wear and most are pretty useful.. I've used llama for my daily tasks automation, there's tockle for android wear that does something similar which I've yet to try.

Yes, android wear is still a work in progress, processing engine could be faster, ability to retrieve previously swiped away notifications is missing etc .. I can only say that android wear can only get better from now and I'm eagerly awaiting Moto 360 2nd gen....cos I'm hooked and sold on the concept. I think iWatch will have huge shoes to fill
