To be honest, the battery life should really sucks because it uses TI Omap3, which I think is a 3 years old soc.
Other smartwatches uses snapdragon 400.

The guy in the video, he is turning off the screen whenever it is possible.
Most people prefer the screen to be on all the time, even if it is dimmed.

Read a few more reviews on Moto 360. It seems Moto 360 does in fact not having good battery life, but few reliable review site ( phone arena, Gizmodo ) does stressed out that it wasnt as bad as you heard. It could last one full day with Ambient mode OFF, or close to one day with ambient mode ON.
According to them, Moto 360 had brightest display of all Android Wear currently, and thus with ambient mode ON, if your outdoor etc display will pump up to brightest and thus affect battery life. Also worth mentioned is that it had heart rate monitor on all the time.
PhoneArena did mentioned about performance that while it's not laggy, it's definitely behind G watch/Gear live.

Above are my conclusion after reading some of these review. I think I'm not happy with Motorola for having this old processor and small battery, because given their effort on phone for optimization and good battery life, if we had S400 and 400mAh in Moto 360 ( as per G watch ) then Moto 360 should be good for even 2 days.

That been said, it's still the best looking Android Wear ( or smartwatch after seeing Apple's dull design ), that's my only choice now.

Well the charging is quite fast. I would say about roughly an hour to get to 100% from 10%

watches have higher risk of getting bump into things. probably a good idea to have it protected.

Received my moto 360 from techbug 2 days ago. First impression is the watch is so light, though it looks premium. The horween band is very soft and easily get aged over time (I have to keep it in good shape as it is limited grey version ).

Put on the wireless charger but only can get 83% full for first overnight charge, think the battery % can be achieved 100% in the next few charges and this has happened to my other gadget before. Came out from my house ard 9am and back on 8pm, average usage (phone call notification x 20, whatsapp x 10, facebook x 5, step and heart rate check for several times), the battery still left 25%, i think it is good enough as the battery still havent "run in" yet.

Overall experience quite satisfactory....but android wear still need a lot of improvement.

Good news for you guys, reports of battery life dramatically improved after the latest update. Some even get 2 days of battery life or more...with Ambient Mode off of course.

Not sure about this, but I think if both off the "Always-On" mode, G Watch should technically still last longer than the Moto 360.

Haha, tempted to let it go, but my SG friend will kill me since he brought it over from SG to me...hahaha.
