I wear mine above the wrist bone too. But the rounded edge of the plastic back is the one that is usually under pressure because of the design of the watch. It does not have protruded lugs, and when the strap is bent, it will hit the rounded edge of the backplate. Not sure whether people will smaller wrist will have more of this issue or not, especially women.

This issue is totally non-existant on the G Watch because it has protruded lugs...

Interesting I try it with my pebble and it looks like I usually wear it above the wristbone as well. On the wristbone it just create pressure on the bone and watch when you flick and seems kinda weird unless its really loose. Good to know.
