If you are going today then u should go "The Brick Shop" as today is the last day for STOREWIDE 20% discount on all Regular items on their 2 years anniversary celebration.

According to their FB - https://www.facebook.com/thebrickshop.sg?sk=info, they are having 3 stores:

Bedok Mall
311 New Upper Changi Road, #B1-16, (S) 467360

Jurong Point
63 Jurong West Central 3, JP2 #B1-33, (S) 648831

NEX
23 Serangoon Central, #04-31, (S) 556083

Hello all. So basically I'm new to this hobby, but I've been collecting figures (Hot Toys) and Gundam for some years already. And I think its time for me to start collecting Lego as well, as I never play Lego when I was a child (damn poor. Haha)

So long story short, I'm very keen to purchase any ship Lego. I have 3 things in mind: Queen Anne's Revenge, Black Pearl and Metalbeard ship. I saw Queen Anne's Revenge at Amcorp, damage is 1600. Is it worthy to get it with that price? Any other good place to get Lego beside Amcorp Mall? Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Good news everyone! Brothers Brick reported that Exo suit will not have only 1 production run. So those still did not have one or going to buy one, don't worry.

hello there. welcome to this new hobby biggrin.gif

QAR & BP both retired... if you really like them and don't mind spending the high prices why not? they are hard to come by now. Sea cow is easier to find.. and more wallet friendly. some might not like its design though.

I agree with YHLee. If you really like it, why not.

I also started with this craze just recently and Star Wars is my cup of tea. With the retired sets, some of them really look too good to resist and go up to thousands and thousands of ringgit.

I have bought quite a few of these retired sets from the internet and they proved to be cheaper than the shops here (if they even have them in the first place, since it is retired).

I think you can save a bit if you try to bring it in yourself by buying online. But of course there is always a risk. Damaged box, held up at customs etc. I guess these shops have already taken the risk and they need to make a living afterall.

In my case, I was lucky with some but some I had to go to customs there to retrieve and pay the tax. But still ended up saving.

Perhaps if you can post some photos of how you connect the PF components together the experts here can help to narrow down the problem?

While waiting for more information from you my first instinct is to check the basics, have you set the same channels on the receiver and remote?

Hello and welcome. smile.gif

If you like ships then you should also throw 10210 Imperial Flagship into the mix. wink.gif

user posted image

It is technically not a pirate ship (this is the good guys) but they all belong to the Lego Pirate sub-theme.

Imperial Flagship will be the biggest of them all, Metalbeard's Sea Cow is probably taller but I don't own it so I can't tell for sure.

If you are a big fan of Pirates of the Caribbean (POTC) then perhaps it may be worth spending so much of Queen Anne's Revenge. With discontinued sets it is definitely not going to be a value-for-money purchase, it really boils down to how badly you want it. I highly doubt Lego will reproduce any of the POTC ships ever again so if it is something you want then you have to bite the bullet...

As for price references and sourcing for your Lego, besides the usual eBay, Mudah etc. One of the best sites we AFOLs always go to is BrickLink

I took the liberty of checking the prices of Queen Anne's Revenge for you on BrickLink, you can see it HERE

Oh and finally, if you are not crazy over POTC or any of their ships and is happy with any pirate ship then may I suggest you wait a few more months? Strong rumour is a new pirate ship will be released by end of the year... wink.gif

Hope this helps! smile.gif

With all the hype and craze of the Exo Suit, it seems we forgot about the Research Institute.

It is now "Sold Out" on Europe's S@H. Which means one can't even put it in the shopping cart anymore and wait for the next batch.

So it seems that Research Institute is gonna be the harder to get set, lol.

If you want just any ship, then I suppose those suggested here for the more affordable ones.

The other ship would be the one from the "Lord of the Rings" sub theme but beware. If you're a completist, you may start chasing the other LOTR sets.

Maersk Ship considered?

Hi guys,

I need some help from the more internet savvy peeps here... It is off topic but related to LYN so I put in spoiler below. Anyone who can help is greatly appreciated! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

ps. I wrote to LYN admin and he told me to click "Advance" and proceed to the page... Isn't that risky? hmm.gif

It could probably be an ad being served.

Try any of the available ad-blocking software or plugins. Adblock Plus for Chrome is my choice. Although LYN needs to make some money from ads, but if it's jeopardizing your security, I think it's OK to block the ad for the time being.

Hope that works.

I saw the error you posted and it seems it's due to thereelbits.com.

It could be that their site is infected and somehow their ads are showing or you are linking to their page somehow, via iframe or maybe a picture.

But of course, if you wanna organize a larger bulk to reduce costs, it'll be to everyone's advantage.

Figured out the problem to you accessing your sales thread. It appears that your image for Simpsons CMF is taken from "thereelbits. com" and Google is thinking that there is malware on that website (I didn't check and confirm though). I would suggest you to click "Advance" for now then remove that picture and replace it with another from perhaps Lego site. Then you shouldn't be getting anymore prompt from Google.
