Back to the question, I would prefer the 4.7" as I feel that 5.5" is too big, at least for me.

It should be around September since Apple will release iOS 8 this fall.

It is rumored to have 1800/2500mAh battery. Also, the new A8 processor should be able to deliver better battery life as it requires less energy.

If you have dilemma, better get the 5.5" version then.

I will most definitely get the 4.7" as I don't like phablet-sized phone.

If you like to snap pictures, big phone is a little uncomfortable IMO.

This is like a First World Problem for you lol.

On a serious note, I don't think large viewfinder is that important. 4.7" would do it just fine.

IINM, they normally release the invitations one week before the event.

The leaked image below (supposedly from an insider) points to 9 September launch date, but yeah, it's still uncertain until Apple officially sends out invites.

I read that it is a redesigned true tone flash module.

You can see they put both white and amber LEDs in a single round flash component in the image below. If that's true, that explains a single round flash hole in the leaks we've seen.

Yeah, but anyway, I read the reason is so we can easily attach external or third party lenses to the camera.

But it's not the first time. iPod Touch 5 also has a protruding camera.
