Hi shifus here, im a big fan of pokemon since 2003.. and when i see a news about pokemon omega ruby and alpha sapphire,im thinking to get a 3DS. so here my problem & questions
1) which to get ? 3DS XL or 2DS ? what i know is both consoles are same just 3DS XL has bigger screen and a 3D function. what i like is a bigger screen.. but i dont use 3D function > should i get 2ds instead of 3DS XL ? i have a limited budget tho. around RM600 ~ 700 with game.but i scare when i bored with 2ds and i resell it.... 2ds hav no value..
2)and also what is the filmware about ? ive seen so many people talking about the filmware of 3DS or 2DS but what is that ? whats the filmware for ?? which filmware version is better ??
3) if you were me. which console will you choose ? 2DS or 3DS XL ? i dont use 3D... so the bigger screen worth my extra RM 200 + on it ?

3DS. and since the game will not be out so soon, u might want to wait for promo when the game launch (console+game)

im only interested with XL and 2DS only. and i can play X & Y or Monster Hunter to wait first thx for replying !

1. if you are a big fans of pokemon... why aren't you owning a 3ds/2ds now? there is pokemon x and y..

2. 3d can be turn off if you don't want to use it... if you can't afford to own a brand new one wait awhile after the release of omega/alpha... people with thinking like you will start selling their 3ds/2ds and you can get it cheap...

3. the latest firmware is the best.

4. if i were you i would make my own decision

i got a 3ds xl and i sold it after i finished the pokemon Y. and now im planning to buy it again because theres pokemon alpha sapphire

if u like bigger screen u better get a 3dsxl and u can turn off ur 3d if u dunwan the function, i play with my 3dsxl with 3d off all time

for firmware those people are talking about pirating games (cannot talk much in here), so if u wanna stick with original game u can have latest firmware always update

If you're gonna play that, a 2DS is not gonna cut it because the button placement is completely wrong for the game and you will have difficulty controlling the camera.

so u recommend 3dx xl instead of 2ds for monster hunter ?

and also whats the diff between asia set and US set ?

I went with the original 3DS. I never considered the 2DS because of the mono speakers, no 3D and the tablet design. Personally I LOVE the 3D function and it looks extremely gorgeous on games like Project x Zone, Fire Emblem Awakening and Kirby Triple Deluxe! The clamshell fold design also makes storing the console much easier.

I was only deciding between the 3DS and XL. In the end I went with the Original 3DS because:

1. Ori 3DS looks and feels so much better and sexier. The stylus on the ori is also better. The XL just feels like a cheap toy (no offence to XL owners, this is just my own opinion)

2. The speaker is a lot better than the XL.

3. The graphics of some game are a bit nicer/sharper due to the smaller screen. (both 3DS and XL have the same resolution.)

4. Much more portable due to the smaller size. Easy to carry around in my jacket.

5. Most importantly, it is cheaper.

No matter which one you choose though, you are going to enjoy the awesome games on the system
