http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=890830#...122120121120120Q3: How do I uninstall the tool? A3:The tool is not installed on the computer. No Program folder entry or Add / Remove Programs entry is created when the tool is run. simply search your hard drive for mrt.exe and delete it

But i tot it's a removal tool like Spybot S & D ? As i know , we cant have two same function software together?
etc : 2 antivirus or 2 firewall , so this is 2 removal tool together?
fariz , i type mrt.exe and found an application which is "MRT"(8131 kb) its location is C:Windows\system32
and another 1 MRT.EXE - 1b4a8d49 in c\windows\prefetch(pf file) 34 kb , so i delete them both?

No harm letting it stay in your system IMO. It fixes specific malicious software that other spyware scanning engine can or cannot detect and they will not conflict with one another.

QUOTE(sotong168 @ Aug 17 2006, 07:45 AM) i have this tool as well, so is it activated during startup and running @ background? The tool is executed manually and on demand. No entry is created for it in the Programs folder or in Add or Remove Programs.

It is a You-click-then-I-run-program. It will be "dormant" unless executed. It has no conflicts meanwhile. The copy in the Prefetch Folder (pf file type) is harmless.

QUOTE(kcng @ Aug 19 2006, 05:08 PM) you guys very sure no harm will be done ? MS gives the update every month. So the next time you use windows update, the file is downloaded again. You can even skipped it

Of course no harm done. If you can't believe us, go ask someone else then... The results is still the same. It is not WGA, so, don't worry.
