i want to use dev rom  but scared my phone damage. Never flash a phone before. If phone damage because of that can go claim warranty?

just curious... mi3 with tegra version is not compatible with our local telco right? but a fren of mine he just bought one mi3 (tegra) and it shows H+ with maxis 3g, so I did a small google search and found out that it could be a fake mi3   anyone here experienced it?
