what's the different btw version 1 and version 2 in terms of sound quality? or v1 means early production date while 2 is a later batch production?

According to Xiaomi's own official review, they claimed that verison 2.0 is much improved comapred to version 1.0, in term of sound quality and build quality.

but i order exactly from mi.com/index.php (xiaomi official) i 100% is original...the sticker of the box is exactly your picture description...word to word...just the box doesnt have the number "2"....

i have gold, packaging is 2.0, the sticker also 2.0. the only caveat i dont have the word piston 2.0...other description according to Max2006 photo word by word...

most likely they run out of version 2 boxes, so just dig out the old packaging box from warehouse and send.      as long as you feel the sound is great and you are very sure you bought it directly from xiao mi, why bother?

anyway, can't buy anything from xiao mi website today, so i get the much hyped Piston 2.1 from steventan85 instead.  Arriving tomorrow.    Read some review at Head-Fi saying it is better than Shure SE215.    So just need to find out by myself. 

if that's the case, then it's all good. but still, I can't accept this kind of solution. Using incorrect product box to send out the item? This is definitely ridiculous, especially for Xiaomi, a company who want to get nice reputation in the world.

At least, they should inform the customers about this instead of letting them scratching their head.

First, we got different version for an item. then we got the fake one as well. And now, using old box becoz of running out of original box ? oh Xiaomi....there's no other products like you.

It is. And a fruit company bought that overpriced thingy becoz of its overpriced name...

So beat really does it. Now I wonder if its real Piston really can match a standard RM300-400 IE....if that's for real, I'm truly tempted to buy it, since the most expensive I have now is RM199 sony thingy.

I'm using the Piston. With the price, I wont complain too much about it.
The sound is a bit flat.
Same music when I plugged in my Bose earphone, it sounds better.
But then with the price for piston, I really appreciate with the quality everything.

I think my assumption is correct. Actually if you ever bought any cheap headphone/IEM with OK sound quality, then you will HYPE it. Basically brain start working, like a calculator, how does this RM50 IEM give a 70% sound of this RM400 IEM. I have been there before.

For example, I just picked up a RM15 IEM from Machines sales last year. I just grab because its a ALTEC LANSING and I never seen the design before (Although I have been hearing about BA for some time already). After I got home, I did a search and found that it was BA and used to be sold for hundreds. Plug it in and it totally blow the RM120 Mylar 1XB that I bought few years ago. Went to another Machines sales early this year and viola Shure. Search the internet, found some info but couldnt bite the bullet because it was not that cheap. Dual BA drivers for RM400 while the old price tag is RM600.

Btw, just received the Piston Earphone from bro steventan85.  At first glance, I thought it is the silver version coz the rose gold is not really noticeable.    First impression - really doesn't sound like a cheap headset at all but a bit lack of stage.  But after i tried it with my JDS C5 headphone amp, it really bring out the best in this headset - sound much fuller and punchier.  I can say it is at least on par with my Klipsch Image X10 if used with the headphone amp.
