dont keep free builder just for walls, just queue ur builders to be free every 1-2days.
just pump dry your elixirs/gold on the walls before you use your last free builders, so by the time u have the next free builder you would have just enough gold/elixir for the next upgrade.

if you have extra, pump some walls and then use up that builder again.
like that you dont keep much gold/elixirs loh.. abo later complain storage full or keep getting raided

TH8 is the sweet farming spot when I was there. No more TH7.
Farm around Silver II to Gold I range, yes, it has a very big range. Or Crystal III (or higher) if you need more DE, but lesser gold & elixir. If your searches keep getting TH5/6, then you need to go higher trophy. Farming TH7 (as TH8) is still fine, just 10% penalty.

The initial shock of higher nexting cost, need lots of elixir for lab/spell/troop/army upgrades for the first few weeks and the feel of difficult to farm using TH7 army at TH8 while upgrading.
But once past that, you will feel exactly like TH7, just more walls, buildings to destroy to get 50%. The loot is fine. Same.

That's the same feel when going from TH8 to TH9.

Otherwise, what do you think with gold/elixir storage full with no where to dump with your max walls ? Just wait ?
