QUOTE(jfcheong @ Aug 27 2014, 10:56 AM) I believe the temp sensor is problematic. it's not only over 90c they will change, but must be over 100c. Few members here claimed before. Mine also giving problem. My temp used to be always 90'c chun chun, but now running between 80'c and 90'c, complaint to SC, SC reply this is ok as long as not over 90'c. Refuse to change for me. Will cont monitor this and see how is it. how i know? because at one time, i tried to change mine. anyway, engine temp will not always be the same (My temp used to be always 90'c chun chun). It will go up and down within the safe range. unless it is a japanese car, the temperature gauge will show you the average temperature, which is why if you notice, their needle always stay the same, until something goes wrong. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-...unning-hot.html First, is your car actually running hot? Modern cars tend to have the needle come up to one point and stay there, no matter what the road conditions (uphill, downhill, desert, snowstorm), and no matter what the engine is doing. They're designed that way, to keep your peace of mind. In reality, your engine temperature is always going up and down, that's why there's a thermostat in the car; to help stabilize the temperature and keep it in the range where your engine operates best. Mercedes didn't do that. Your temperature gauge shows what your engine temperature is really doing. That means it will be higher on hot days, going uphill, in stop and go traffic, than it will be on cooler days, running on level ground at a constant speed. It will raise when you're sitting at idle when the temperature is 95F, and it will cool down when you start moving again. This is normal. If the only way you'll be satisfied is having your temperature gauge settle on one spot and stay there, no matter what, you might want to visit your local Toyota dealer, or superglue your temperature gauge. Short of that, it's always going to be on the move. This post has been edited by skyblu3: Aug 27 2014, 11:08 AM |

QUOTE(jfcheong @ Oct 15 2014, 04:32 PM) Previously: termostat stucked- open all the time? After I start my engine, the temperate gauge hit 90'c within 2 mins. And always steadily maintained at 90'c. Currently: After I start my engine, it takes at least 5 mins to hit 70'c and above. And always floating between 70'c to 85'c. Is this a problem? Or normal for the reading floating around but never over 90'c??? |

QUOTE(jfcheong @ Oct 16 2014, 03:58 PM) thermostat is either closed or opened.when you just started your car, as long as the coolant temperature hasn't reach the optimum temp, it will remain closed. So if a thermostat is stuck in the open position, the coolant will start to circulate the cooling system even before it reaches the optimum temp....in a way, the coolant will not get the chance to reach it's optimum temp. in another word, a stuck opened thermostat is the same as if you have removed the thermostat. Some car owners remove it. I'm just guessing that this could be the cause of this problem. This post has been edited by skyblu3: Oct 16 2014, 04:26 PM |

QUOTE(acjay @ Oct 17 2014, 08:41 PM) Does anyone have a problem of external smoke enter into your inside car cabin? did you press the air re-circulation button?Even with doors & windows shut and set to internal air circulation (every time starting car), I can smell the exhaust of vehicles in front especially if they emit a lot of smoke. I have sent to SC 3 times to check. They say no problem and no cracks or gaps for outside air to go inside. Last visit, they opened up the aircond system and check all ok, so they changed to a charcoal air filter and charged me for it. Still can smell the exhaust/smoke from outside. It's mild but annoying, and worried of the toxic air when toddlers are in the car. |

QUOTE(sam2park @ Jan 26 2015, 08:51 AM) Hi to all members..need some opinion, how can i improve my ride to be more comfort? you can reduce the rim size to may 16" and get a tyre with higher profile...such as 215/55/16.As my car is a Griffe package with 18' wheel, i feel bit bumpy and rough surface. i know this car tune for sport spring. can i change my tyre setup to 215/45/18? normal is 225/40/18 or change my pressure to 31-32? my normal setup is 34 or change to soft spring? but as for now i still can live with it just need some opinion.. tq then you will get more comfort. |
