what is you average mileage?
for mine, city drive is ~400km for ~50l

also, i notice some defects (?) as below. is this normal?
1) loud engine noise. not audible inside but quite loud outside. even when i'm stationary
Might be due too new car,let it run for 10,000km. if still persist then sent to SC to check.

2) loud "tak" noise after switch off engine. need to wait ~1 minute for the sound though. Peugeot technician told me its normal
Its normal,the ecu will cut off the power supply to other ecu around 1 minute.

3) hard to open petrol input hole (not sure what to call it). any specific way to open it? sometimes pressing the button wont open it. technician cant check it. it behaves properly during checking
No comment on this,give some times for it to behave properly..

4) after not using my car for 3 days (was outstation), on the 4th day when i open it, the ESP is faulty. everything is ok once i restart the engine. technician told me its normal too. sometimes the battery not enough power to turn on all components as its idle for some time. BTW, my car is less than 1 month old
As the car is equip with higher technology(Multiplex System) that will drain battery faster than normal fuel injection vehicle. U can see ur battery and its capacity is quite large too.

Hi guys, just got my 408t last monday . But then, as i drive along with it the whole week, i found some problems with the car:

1. The steering vibrates during braking and high speed cruising~around 120KM/h.

2. The disc brakes seems to like something sticking on the surface of it,looks like water marks but it isn't. Normally you see other car's disc brakes, they looked like smooth steel but on my car they looked rough and there are some scratch marks on the surface.

3. Sometimes the aircond turns off by itself, turning off in the sense that the system is still on, the a/c light still on but there are no cool air coming out from the blowers, occurred two times after parking for around 4 hours under hot sun and i have no way to make the aircond cool unless i restart the engine.

For problem no.1, I've took my car to Nusajaya SC to check two days ago, what they did is they did alignment saying that the car was out of alignment, and they "gosok" the brakes, no idea what it means   but the person there say it is common for 408 new cars to vibrate when braking and it will go away as millage accumulates as the disc or pad are new. That's fine but for the alignment they've showed me some figures before and after like from -0.4 to -0.1 or some 0. But then i tried to drive at 120KM/h still the steering vibrates but the vibration is still not that big as before. i thought the vibration should disappear since the car's alignment is good??? how a????

For problem 2 and 3 i plan to address them on the 2500 km service and hope they can fix it. Any Advice????  
BTW, what is the RPM when driving at 110 KM/H, seemed to be a little high for a six speeder  .

Have you come across when the air quality become bad - not bad ordour but the air is stale and feel like cannot breathe. Happened a few times and also a friend of mind felt the same way. I think it happened when I reduce the air cond when it was too cold.

I think you are right. My SA told me to press the recirculate air everytime i enter the car. Probabaly it was continously on. And yes around 1 hour plus in the car.

Just want to check something on service and maintenance. Out Service is either based on mileage or months whichever is earlier.

For example the first inspection is either on 2500KM or 3 months whichever comes earlier.

The 3 months -is it from the date of Registration or Date of taking the car?

The Chan Sow Lin people told me its from the date they registered the car.

Car registered: 29/10/2014
Car collected : 30/11/2014 (after warranty claim for Headlamp and Windscreen)

First Inspection: 14/2/2014

less than 3 months from the date of collection, they told me I am late and charged me RM45 for first inspection after 50% discount!

Bad day for my car today. It's been awhile since I have been having problem with the slowly reducing coolant which up until now the SC can't resolve. To add on to that, the car has also been having issues with the temperature gauge which it intermittently goes below 90C (after driving for abit on 90C) and one time it went all the way up for a second until there was a warning light. This has not been fixed as well.

And top it all up, recently, when I start the car it feels that it has not enough power to start to a steady run which at first I thought it was the battery that is weak. Today, after I started the car, it was jerky and then the warning message came out saying engine failure. I quickly consulted someone to see if it is battery issue but he mentioned it could be fuel pump issue. I had to slowly drive the car from my office to the SC (which is nearby).

I like this car but as of now, I feel very insecure when I drive it. It's the feeling that it might breakdown any time and I can't have that as I am always picking up my family. Anyways, just to let off my "steam".

Just noticed my windscreen plastic edge cracked seriously.... Anyone claimed this before?[attachmentid=4360133]

I have hesitate to claim that, if they dismantle the dash board, end up got tikus sound... worse

Aiya.. u know lah..
those tikus sound, very hard to catch one.
If really got, den jialat.

- Driver seat got sound
- Driver door got sound when open and close
- Moldy door seal
- Cracked windscreen rubber seal
- Sticky dash board

Hi everyone,

Need to seek technical explanation. May I know how / when would the side airbags be deployed? I recalled this version of 408 T pride itself for having 6 airbags. "The 408 Turbo also comes with driver and front passenger side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags" from peugeot.com.my.

However, in my case, only front driver &  passenger Airbags were deployed. The other airbags didn't inflate and the impact was from the side.

I've also read this howstuffworks-Airbags

Anyone can give me advise since this is regarding safety.  Thank you thank you.

This is same package as 408T now ?  our one is THP 165 ,Six speeder also new piston and ECU and new turbo.... I wonder any one know the details ?

Got back my pug from glenmarie on last friday, it got warded for 3 days coz of.

1) Under carriage noise once above 110kph
2) side skirting has loosen up
3) squeaky brakes
4) right hand side triangle rubber came off
5) windscreen vapour inside the car after going through carwash. Just at 1 particular spot
6)noisy steering when turning my steering wheel
7) jerky gearbox when i slowdown almost to stop and drive again
8)check engine mounting
9)noisy absober at uneven road
10) centre console has cigarette hole..

got bck the car hoping for a solution, but none af the addressed issues had been sorted.. couldnt believe that after 3 days, nothing was done.

complaint again, now they want me to leave the car for another 3 days... getting frustrated

Our 408T have jerky  gear box if we hard on throttle , Must throttle it gently to get smooth gear change....... usually what i did i blip down to change gear, mean i push up to certian RPM instead pedal to metal , I release the pedal for  split second to allow smooth gear change and then continue pedal agian.  No hardly any jerk....
