Latest from PT for 308 T

"Under the hood is a new engine which produces 150 PS at 5,000 rpm as well as 240 Nm from 1,450-4,000 rpm, all sent through a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission to the front wheels. The engine features a new turbocharger and piston designs, as well as an ECU that has been fine-tuned to suit our fuel quality"

This is same package as 408T now ? our one is THP 165 ,Six speeder also new piston and ECU and new turbo.... I wonder any one know the details ?

Yeah but our 408T is already rework Turbo, Piston and ECU retune , even fuel system is tune to RON 88,

I believe the hardware still the same, only difference is software...

The SA said only software updated and detuned for fuel efficiency and better gear response. I prefer my pug better, anytime over the new one, except perhaps that new dashboard.

Where did you get this info.

The Prince on the 408t is 163THP. Total of 8 mods were done making this engine very reliable. Here's the list of mods.

1) Engine tuned to run on RON 87 petrol
2) Remapped ECU
3) New designed piston with lower compression
4) New designed catalyzer.
5) New engine oil filter housing with heat exchanger
6) New turbo charger
7) New fuel tank gauge unit with lower pressure pump to handle lower grade petrol.
8) A fuel filter to cater for hash atmospheric condition ( third world country)

Go Seri kembang SC , report it and get a email in contact ( easier then call in) , Remember communication with respect to the service advisor... they are human too , like to treated with respect. Talk to them nicely , have some small talk.

and follow up. bro, hope can resolved

from pauline website bro. cant put the real url , kena ban here. As bro virgohunk said , retune 408T engine. more to smoother gear change and fuel economy .

Our 408T have jerky gear box if we hard on throttle , Must throttle it gently to get smooth gear change....... usually what i did i blip down to change gear, mean i push up to certian RPM instead pedal to metal , I release the pedal for split second to allow smooth gear change and then continue pedal agian. No hardly any jerk....

I wonder can we request SC to reflash our 408T with latest 308 T ECU tunning, lost 10bhp but smoother gear change.....

else, blip the throttle...try it... Our 408T gear change at 3K rpm, try it bro..push it to 3K to 3.2K rpm range , release the throttle for a split sec or reduce the throttling. Then gear will change to higher or lower. Then press the throttle agian... Smooth changing...

take some practice to make it perfect.

What do you guys mean by gearbox jerky? Like everytime it shift up or down, there is a jerk/judder? Or how is it?

I do push my car once awhile. Reving it to 5000-6000 and then drop gears. But i dont have any jerk when i shift up or down.

The 408T gearbox is speed sensitive. It wont shift if it hasnt reach a certain speed/rev. It is design this way so drivers will always have ready power (be in the right gear) when they need it. Thats why if you noticed, on slow speed traffic, it wont shift up. Always keep to 2nd or 3rd gear. Then when u let go throttle, it will jerk abit. But this is not the GB. Its just normal engine breaking feeling. Perhaps maybe you can be more detail in explaining the jerking? Curious to know more.

Thank you.

Yes, when going down hill you speed and slow down to corner then sudden gear change it jerk more . if you push to 5k rpm change gear is okie not so bad, but in between like below 3 k rpm it does jerk more.... keep at 3k rpm then blip the throttle it will be fine....for smoother gear change . or usual manual.

If you cruise at 5th gear and below 3k rpm, and then shift up to 6th, will it jerk?

Up shift only jerk or down shift? Or both?

Up not so bad , downshift worst, on downhill then u slow down to turn to T junction form 3 gear at 4k rpm suddenly drop to 2nd gear... it dragging and jerking...

So so keep within 3K rpm or drop the throttle to change gear , much smoother.

I think it is just how the engine breaking works.

Try resetting your adaptive gearbox.

1) Turn off your engine. Wait until all the electronics is off (i.e engine fan off, dashboard display nothing)
2) Step the accelerator all the way down until u hear a click
3) Hold the accelerator down for 15 seconds
4) Done

You may still feel gear change not smooth after this, but this is because the gb is learning your drive pattern again.

See if it works.

If all else fail......Visit the SC biggrin.gif
