Never jerk, but at times the gear seem to stuck in one gear so whenever that happens I solve it by switching to manual mode and upshift to lower the rpm and then switch to D again.

Make sure you tick every box in the checklist (find it in earlier threads posted by the otais) before you sign to make sure ur Pug is in excellent condition. Check whether the door hinges are tightly screwed on all 4 doors, boot & bonnet. Mine was loose and one screw came out from the driver door. I had the guys at the outlet fixed and checked everything before I sign.

Lastly, find time to read this fans thread from V1, it will help u to understand ur Pug's character more. It will definitely grow on u.

Looks like we are sailing in the same boat bro.. i feel u.. kinda stressed when something like this happend..Btw i heard some info from few insiders in nasa saying that peugeot 408 is actually a 2012 car.. meaning that even in our grand claims that its made in 2014 or 2015, the actual yom is 2012 ...how they do it remains confidential and it seems the car had been parked in rantau panjang all the while.. or in show rooms, which explains sticky inner part of dashboard and 2012 tyres. And in some cases, fungus on paint work also explains the car had been parked under hot sun.. they mentioned that if i had seen the car in rantau panjang, most probably i would have cancelled the purchase.. i believe thats why my SA and foreman asked me really drive the car and address all the issues during the first 10k service or better during inspection..but i never thought so many problems arise so quickly

Enjoying the drive so far. First inspection up tomorrow, only issue I've had is today when my driver window made a noise when going back up. I think it was grinding against the rubber. Other than that, nothing noteworthy except that my passengers keep sliding off the seats because of the new leather lol.. One thing I've noticed, this car seems prone to picking up road debris, I'm assuming its because of the aerodynamic design and the bodykit..

Also, my fuel stats (i saw posts earlier):
- 7.4L/100km @120km/h cruise control (on h/way, 150km distance)
- 7.7L/100km @130km/h CC, same route
- My average for 2.3k km's is 10.0L but thats probably because i get stuck in traffic everyday

Need to seek technical explanation. May I know how / when would the side airbags be deployed? I recalled this version of 408 T pride itself for having 6 airbags. "The 408 Turbo also comes with driver and front passenger side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags" from peugeot.com.my.

However, in my case, only front driver & passenger Airbags were deployed. The other airbags didn't inflate and the impact was from the side.

Ur car does come with 6 airbags but how ever the collision didnt triggered the side airbag.
The sensors that trigger the side airbag located at both front door and the collision didnt triggered it.
If it was a direct side impact then it would definitely trigger the side airbag.

I thought from the howstuffwork, side curtain airbag suppose to protect rear seated passengers because front already have 4 airbags. Anyway, if a childseat was fitted properly at the back (in reverse of course), then bag like that jialat le?

I'm considering the total loss claim, banged up like that may not feel like it was once new b4. Yes it could be fix but it'll be different after.

Hey dude, first thing: it's good to know you and your wife were uninjured in that accident.

Secondly, I think the answer to your question depends mostly on if the car was a long term investment or not. If it was, then I reckon you should get it repaired and continue using it, assuming that things like your transmission, drive shaft and axle are not seriously damaged based on the images.

P/s: to an extent, I agree with you that "it'll be different after" but this car saved you, your wife and your future kid. If it was me, my confidence in terms of safety would grow knowing that even if a car whack me until their engine hancur, my family is safe.

Not sure which sound u r referring... But u should be worries if no sound coz that's the hp pump working

The sound is when you switch on ignition before starting the engine. T
he sound comes from near the engine. Actually if the door is closed, can't hear it but audible when door is open or driver's windows is down.

Hi jfcheong, i claim for delamination on outer dashboard, but it comes as a set, inner and outer, my inner dashboard also sticky, the new one is not sticky, and airbag cutout not visible
