why what Maybank told me is accurate, your current card wont be affected. only new signup (i.e. approval) from 9 July onwards will bear RM100 GST.
yep, that's what Maybank CS told me after i found out this RM100 GST in this topic.

i pray hard that their info is accurate especially for current card users.  sweat.gif
*
Thanks for your info...

even though what CS told you may be true, they may still change their mind later on sad.gif

On a not related note, if i'm sure everyone here will continue using as long as they can cancel their visa/mc. I sort of did wonder whether maybank will really decide that they cannot absorb the GST for amex perpetually.

so every year need to collect 25k points to offset the GST... Hmmm

Hi, my gf recently got her 2 cards in may.. When she got her statement this month, RM50 service charged was imposed but was subsequently reversed ..
*
I don't sense a question being asked... but i get why you are confused...

Even though the RM50 it's waived, you will still see a double transaction.

Cause... it's like they HAVE TO charge you... but they are paying it for you. so one debit, one credit, set-off

What i noticed with other banks are the same as well, they charge and they waive...

The odd part in my short and little experience is, maybank charged me AFTER (in my 3rd statement, 2 months later) my card has been approved for awhile whereas other bank just charged when it was approved.

And Thanks (to the other guy) who gave the email confirmation on the GST issue of existing cardholders.

i hope it remains the way it is, perpetually. smile.gif

Hello all, if I want to use Public Bank e-banking to pay my credit card statement, is it the only way is to transfer from Public Bank to my Maybank account, then just pay it using my Maybank account?

Or is there anyway I can pay it directly from Public Bank to credit card?

Thanks.
*
You can transfer from ANY bank to pay the cc directly. GIRO to your cc.

For the sake of simplicity, I opened the maybank basic savings account today, but when I asked them to link my MBB2Cards to that account, they said it's automatic, just have to register maybank2u pin via the new ATM card they gave, and log in maybank2u.

After doing that, I realized that CC isnt listed and thus went to search online and ended up calling their CS and posting here, and indeed we need them to link the CC to M2U.. I have no idea why that staff told me it's automatic. I even highlighted that I currently already holding MBB2Card but no M2U / Maybank Savings account doh.gif
*
1) i got my mbb 2 card. applied for online banking since i don't have savings account with MBB. When i login, can only see MC, cannot see Amex... cause i applied using MC.

2) i opened a savings account after that, due to payroll reasons... then i told the bank officer about problem 1). bank officer was very helpful, and helped me link everything for me... then login again... still cannot see my Amex card...

3) frustrated... i went to maybank AGAIN... told the bank officer my problem... she said, "from system, it's shown that your savings account, MC and AMEX are linked.

so she was helpful she suggested... i cancel my login id linked to the MC... created a brand new id linked to the debit card/savings account... PROBLEM SOLVED

Prior to my step 1, i saw the post in LYN on the problem as well, but clearly it didn't work for me...

Anyway, good luck for now. smile.gif

Edit: in case you were wondering, this happened about less than 4 months ago

Hi guys,

I just received my Maybankard 2 Cards, and that is my first credit card, but it got a yellow part in that letter which attached the cards, it writes,  "THIS PORTION MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED IMMEDIATELY"

So do I really have to sign it and return it? But return where?

I have already activated the cards via SMS and got the confirmation already, can anyone help me with this?

Thanks a lot. smile.gif

For those familiar with these promotions.

just wanna ask... it's genuine sale right? not... random and few items at 70% and 80% and then everything else give you 10% kinda of thing?

cause i can't afford most of the thing but genuine sale still can. don't want to go there if it's not really sale sale. traffic is bad even with public transport at after work hour.

EDIT: i'm looking to buy chocolates, not premium premium stuff. biggrin.gif

Will definitely go if Godiva has sale. Yummy

Pls update yah if you go today.

Think too much. No godiva. Just some usual stuff one can buy from airport at 30% discount. Example: milky way, guylian, snickers... Got some at 40. Rafaello? That white coloured ferrero roche look alike. Leonidas at 50%.

Next... For ladies, michael kors and kate spade clothes at about 60%. Victoria secret underwear 5 for rm79. Some v.secret cosmetics stuff on sale too. Jimmy choo shoes cheaper? I dont know price but i think rm1005 os 'cheap'?

Tumi. Bags. Didnt look.

Perfume about 40%. Kenzo, machisno? Anna sui, versace, dolce and galbana? Cheap kua. Some cosmetic biotherm, loccitane.

Canali suits... I think 60%

Lastly watches... 30-40% i think. Lower ends like swatch, esprit, citizen. Got seiko.

In glass case, there's mont blanc, maurice la croix.

Overall... Wasted my time and effort. Very small room. But looks like ppl bought alot. Payment queue quite long too.

hi all, i have a doubt.

how do i know what is the point being awarded to each transactions made?

Reason i'm asking is i found my points didn't increase at the rate i expected, cos since it's 5x TP for Amex, and i am using Maybank 2 card solely for my transactions.

at average spending of 2k/month, i don't see it growing much...
*
Keep in mind for certain items like insurance, education, government stuff, the points is only x2.

You can always apply at maybankard centre. One in gardens, and... Don't know where. Either post #1 or google will give you an answer.

Seriously... I have seen other banks doing roadshow, booths with free gifts. I have NEVER seen maybank. based on my short experience, i've never even heard of free gifts/cash for new sign up. maybe some seniors here can provide more insight.

Even 1st year GST need to give. Tetapi saya rela bagi, dengan gembiranya.

the 2 times that I have seen their 'roadshow'/'booth', those 2 times are because
1) treatspoint fair... obviously there's one (i don't remember them giving out free gifts)
2) the valiram sale the other day... not very 'hard-sell' and didn't offer free gifts anyway.

Hi guys, when you apply for M2C, did they ask whether u prefer Visa or Mastercard?
*
You got so many replies, I think we can gather statistics.
1) Myself. I wasn’t asked. Default given Mastercard. I forgot to state my preference but that’s what I wanted anyway.
2) My sibling. Visa. Cause requested.

You will lose that x% that the merchant and the credit card bank takes.

Well, online transaction seems the easier target. Harder to time how long it takes to pump petrol or queuing up in line to pay for things.

My statement date is 24th. So my spending on the 24th will be included in the statement or will it be brought to the next one?
*
Depends on when the transaction is posted... if your spending on the 24th also posted on the 24th, then yes it is in the statement. if it's posted on 25th or later, then next statement.

i just don't understand why my amex transactions always get posted same day... regardless of the merchant's bank.
