hi guys

1 question here.

my statement show this on my maybank2card (Amex)

user posted image

but then on my visa card, another tax been charged which is RM50 but didn't show paid.

so i would like to know the tax is charged on amex card or it is been waived. because customer service told me only charged on visa itself.

thanks

I am going for business trip oversea next month. Am I have to inform Maybank to enable / activate the cards for oversea transactions, or I can straightaway use the cards?
*
The cost to call is very very minimal, so why not just make the call?

don't think mbb every waive any gst since its implementation... we either pay or use treatpoints to knock off... that's all... annual fee, yes...

QUOTE(cyang @ Jul 10 2014, 09:29 AM)
If I not mistaken, Maybank never waive GST. Just use treatpoints to offset. With 5X TP using Amex, to offset GST is just simple as ABC.

Maybank replied but

The email only confirm that Service Tax for Maybankard 2 Card approval effective 9 July 2014 is RM100 (RM50 each card). The email did not respond to my specific query on existing principal card holder (approval before 9 July 2014).

I have replied to the email and asked again.

note: this is from the mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my. No respond from amex.customercare@maybank.com.my.

To be honest, I am very (pleasantly) surprise that old holders are not affected. Credit to Maybank for this.

Checked with the KLCC card center, they said if upgrade to plat, they'll charge RM100... sad.gif but I feel that they are not so sure about it.
*
Upgrade will get a new CC account no, so my guess is, will be considered as new application.

Make a remark in the CL upgrade form that you do not want to be upgraded to platinum.

Ya I asked my friend whom works in a bank.. upgrading of card is considered as new application, so gst will be charged again..

Having said that, anyone got any ideas if existing users will be charged rm50 for gst, and rm100 only for new applicants or its for all?
*
RM50 for old cardholders

I already submitted the online form for the Product Code: GSTP003 TreatPoints: 12500 in May but they still charged me for my GST in June statement. However no tp has been deducted from my account so not sure why did they ignore my online redemption.

I got the same like you also... Both Visa and AMEX card were charged Rm50 but AMEX shown paid...Hence, only Visa we need to pay Rm50.
However, my question is i just got my maybankard this May and after two months they charged me for GST???
That's not even half a year yet....So fast have to pay GST?  hmm.gif
*
Most banks charge you on the approval day itself wink.gif
