can we retain the old gold card number when upgrading to platinum card?

Hi Good Morning all MBB2 cards holder, Im new here. Just received my first statement today but didnt see any 5% rebate/or under credit section. For example, my first day using AMEX on  05/07/2014, supposed the rebate shall included in my 28/07/2014 statement right?

I called to report a lost Maybank 2 card and was told that it'll cost me RM50 to get a replacement unless I make a police report.

Very annoying, I guess if Maybank wants to charge fees and doesn't appreciate my decade long business with them then I'll happily move my expenditure to another bank.

then why don't you make a police report?

this is true... i used both mbb and cimb cc more than 10 years ago and only cimb will automatically increase my cl after few years of using it. but mbb never, unless i request.

but both have their own good. automatic increase cl is not always a good thing. when you lose your cc and the thief illegally used it to swipe until max your cl, you can blame the bank for increasing without your approval.

moving fd from mbb to cimb is a good move anyway since the fd rate is higher in cimb after the adjustment recently.

good choice on the FD..CIMB is offering 3.4% interest p.a. now..
but do they have good card to begin with?

and do not open SA account as they have annual fees...

should i make payment for both card separately, or is it combined payment regardless of for whichever card i make payment for?

I have an urgent question regarding usage of the Maybank2 Card overseas.
I'm planning to use the cards in both UK and Europe this month. Do I require to have a PIN number to use the cards at oversea merchants?

I thought that the PIN was only required to withdraw cash from ATM using Credit Cards?

Appreciate advise since I'm leaving quite soon.

Was just wondering coz when I called the bank to activate my CC for oversea usage, the operator said that I needed to have a PIN to use the card in UK and Europe.
And he specifically mentioned that without the PIN, I will not be able to purchase at the merchant.

Is the PIN compulsory or just optional?

I can confirm this. Tried to pay via Amex but they only accept Visa master for credit card.
