I know that topic title was vague but wor count so dont blame me laugh.gif

Okay we all know E3 right?

Yeah its been downsized, yeah no more booth babes and yeah it wont be big and flashy anymore.

But my point is Malaysia needs a show displaying video games (all platforms). A small one would be good enough. Look, the gaming community is growing and it would be cool if we had a show depicting upcoming games.

Look we have a show about metals, guns and cars. Wouldnt it be fair and reasionable to have a show dedicted to the field of gaming?

Your thoughts about this...

It is not about gamers it is about game developers that needs to be united. E3 is an expo to market electronics gadget that tends to be fun, which includes newly made and very potential game smile.gif

Dude, i know you're excited and all about this, but i think you could post this in the GEneral XB360 thread pinned up there, instead of making a new thread.

On the topic at hand, everyone here wants a video-game related expo/show. It is just that we are too small a community, or hampered by our preferences ( original vs piracy ) for the main show content providers ( Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and game studios ) to even consider hosting such events here.

The WCGs we have here every year is a start though, and we have Xbox and Xbox 360 games matches and competition at that event. Having our own Xbox-specific event is a bit too much to ask IMO, again due to the reasons i state above.

EDIT:The game developers are united, it is just that they want to protect their investment and interest, when it comes to participating and sponsoring such events. Sure, they can make it like the current PC Fair we're having now, with freebies and goodie bags and such, but what are they(developers) getting in return when the majority in console gaming around this region still go about using warez and pirated game discs? You must get something in return of what you give, right? smile.gif

started this thread just for fun and see people's opinion over a show. laugh.gif

Granted game developers are united and piracy is rampant. But we ARE improving ourselves. Slowly but surely gamers all over will start buying ori, sounds far off but look at it this way several PCCD ROMS are being protected with programs hat dont allow you to burn CDs, Gamecube CDs were managed to be copied but only recently and pirates lost BIG on that, PSP CDROMS are not all that popular because they cause viruses and are a pain to install and XBOX 360 CDS are not yet copied (not to my knowledge).

But if a show was to be made it will motivate buyers to be aware of the benefits of buying ori. Look when the WCG caught on here game enforcement became strict and pirates were being puhed so much so they went underground.

Maybe pirates have won this generation without trouble(sales were for PS2 and Xbox for pirated games) but they have to fight the next.

Once again this thread was started outta fun and all I want is the opinion of the gamer.

Sorry if i crossed any of the moderators on this i really didnt mean it. notworthy.gif

Ever heard of GEEX? It was supposed to be the E3 equivalent for SEA... That fell through though.

Honestly, there's just no market for this here... We're too small a "community" to even consider. If Europe doesn't have it, what makes you think we will?

Meh, most of the exhibitors are local (No, Atari Deutchsland doesn't count as foreign).

E3 literally attracts developers from all across the globe. That's the difference.

If we were to have something like the GC, we'd have 4 actual game "developer" exhibitors and the rest are mostly hardware and stuff... Might as well just go PC Fair.

Hmm, methinks its because of the demise of E3, publishers and developers are scrambling for a replacement... brows.gif
