lol liquid sarcastically praised ddz's invoker in the beginning, raped lol
*
I think they "ARE" maybe giving them a chance. Who knows? Judging from the overall score. The other teams wouldn't underestimate.

QUOTE(Painfall @ Jul 11 2014, 11:11 AM)
are other teams start to give pity to panah or they just don't know panah's best picks lol?
*
A win or two is what I do expected from Panah despite my bashing here. I do think of their possible wins and losses.

Smart guy, Painfall. thumbup.gif I think they are starting to "pity" is a real factor. It happens in sports. We shall find out when we see their interview then... smile.gif

As you heard from others, "sarcastically" praised Invoker of Panah. That might seem like it already.

I dont think any team would want to feed any pity in Bo1 series especially in round robin. 1 more lose and liquid will drop down to the last 6 team.
*
Well yeah.

Phase II - July 9 - 12
- Round robin, 16 teams, best-of-1
-- Top 2 to Main Event - upper bracket
-- Rank 3 to 10 to Phase III, rank 11 to 16 eliminated

Almost done with this phase. Which will be going to Day 3!

Phase III - July 13 - 14
- Two bubble race brackets, best-of-3
-- Winners of each join the main event, in the upper bracket
-- rank 2-3 of each go to main event - lower bracket, rank 4 of each is eliminated

i think more like they are underestimating panah too much...
didn't see them as serious threat since their score so bad so they pay the price....

it'll be risky to give any team an extra point in this stage...the tourney is too big to give even a point....
*
Yes. True. But they are all on top. Left few team games only before the bubble match which is even more tough. They won't fall very hard to me. One ban on Invoker which people trained 12345678 hours might be a heavy blow to Panah.

QUOTE(wanttobuylaptop @ Jul 11 2014, 11:28 AM)
if saying VG pity them is ok, they are 7-1
NAR'US and Liquid pity them at last two matches of the day with their standing now? 10mils dollar at stake, possible they afford to pity anyone ah?
*
Of course 10 million is at stake. Sometimes team don't really think the money and do. It is based on their will whether they want to do very hard to get it. It's almost like 16-18+++ teams trying to make jackpot by using their life and dedication in Dota 2 to "kena" tepat as they can beat many teams alike.

What I tried to say is, the teams maybe underestimating them for some reason.

QUOTE(SGSuser @ Jul 11 2014, 11:30 AM)
ti4, no such thg as pity la...the only obvious reason is that liquid felt they could handle ddz's highly rated invoker
*
Not pity but more to underestimating. Their the worse in the group already despite these few days.

QUOTE(v1n0d @ Jul 11 2014, 11:31 AM)
It's a combination of being underestimated + gaining confidence. Less clumsiness today, especially from Lance. laugh.gif
*
I find your words more rational now. That's something you put in factors when we speak about constructive criticism.

on the other hand, Empire is also gaining confidence by overwhelming iG o.O
*
That's gonna be a huge victory for EG considering they did "raep" iG with a FV that's overpowered.

I am looking at Na`Vi.US entering the main hall now and they look extremely dejected. It should be expected though, since I think by now most people were classifying Arrow as the MUFC of TI4. DDZ's Invoker is carrying the team extremely hard and I think teams have begun to underestimate Arrow too much - I had heard that they had actually been even in scrims against many teams like Empire and Titan.

About Liquid/Na'Vi.na being depressed. I think that's pretty fake considering they are still on the podium run. The lowest two-three teams are the one's getting out and eliminated. The wins doesn't matter SERIOUSLY speaking.

QUOTE(klthor @ Jul 11 2014, 12:07 PM)
hmmm empire, i do hope to see them bounce back too but i prefer watching dk/ig vs navi/eg in final. battle of east vs west which we seldom see in tournament hehe. and titan at least 3rd place!!!! i love ohaiyo since ti3!!!
*
I love Ohaiyo since DotA 1 era already. He has crawled from many low moments before getting cropped to perform in a tougher , better team.

And also Xtinct and others are very good. Considering 5 wins 4 losses isn't a big deal as they were the former Orange Top 3 players in TI3. Hope they get as many cash in hand and coach some new teams in near future. Their age are also growing. We would see new stars in Malaysia hopefully instead always the veterans.

agreed, grab more cash the best and develop malaysia doto... actually malaysia and sg have a lot of good players, but what we lack of is sponsors and future in doto... if DK vs titan in final really make my life hard to pick which to support just like world cup germany vs agentina... so hard to pick and support.

dota1? didnt pay attention back then becoz i was hiding under private server only...

I need people like you to exist. Which I don't look down or look low.

As I see the forum, I'm actually a community driver from East Malaysia. The only one who really look into the players and consideration to leverage good one's from the bad.

The problem is those "bashing" me at forums or stuff are usually blessed with KARMA.

CONCLUSION:

Need more rational gamers with less "third-world" mentality to bring forward our E-Sports.

Skip that...

DotA 1, he played a lot with team Sino and slowly gain his pace to be recruited to a better team. I salute to him!

haha no worries, not everyone can get along well just like yamateh and mushi.

keep on the good work, wish to see another team of malaysian rising smile.gif dun let thoose korean rise above us!!
*
Ah it's ok for MVP.Phoenix to raise up. They, Koreans... Have been on slumber but they dominate Starcraft II scene are filthy rich for an individual... Top 10-20+++ players are making money out of it.

What I find is, they need to bring back Orange(more powerful MuFc) picked players which demolished Panah , Titan or Invasion team quite convincingly...

Too bad, the Penang kaki all retired for real work. If they know this, I hope they are back to rambo.

Koreans dominating LoL already, won't be funny if they get everything lol

Malaysia will be hard to grow because most pipul especially our government still follow the old thoughts of gaming = waste of everything

Fun fact is that there'll be an university for eSport in Indo soon. man don't they realize their country is like Pinoy with kids stealing money so they can play in cafes instead of going to school
*
Sooner or later at least it's a growing market.

QUOTE(SiewKaiz @ Jul 11 2014, 01:56 PM)
however if u all got watch ice3 interview with hotbid, icecube mention that SEA actually have alot talented player however it is hard for them to rise or make a living as progamer as he mention the salary and sponsor in SEA is very less/bad thats why he n mushi/chuan fled to china( thats what i understand from the interview thou)
*
Yes. Even if I go for a full-time Degree job, it will pay me more than I spent my time on games I love to play with.

QUOTE(klthor @ Jul 11 2014, 02:14 PM)
ya sad part of dota is tat dota2 came a bit too late and have alot of spin off such as HONs LOL... but it seems like china still the power house of dota producing so many top teams -.-
*
There's also Heroes of The Storm. Dota 2 is still the strongest paid E-Sports game for MOBA though. Do not categorize it into others like CS:GO etc...

I remember back when I was doing sponsorship negotiations for my old team, the best offer I could negotiate was approximately 1200 a month without a gaming house. Good luck surviving on just that.

This might change in the near future though, as I've received word that a local investment firm is interested in committing to an eSports venture. It's still in it's infancy, but if everything goes as planned, you can look forward to an SEA superteam that has the resources to compete with the likes of Chinese teams such as DK and Newbee.
*
Would you mind share with me which of yours is the old team?

HoN ? Dota 2 ? LoL ?

Maybe classic DotA 1?

I believed I have overheard around 2 potential/rich organizations that would plunge their resources to E-Sports.

BUT as of course, I hear many talk corks people saying they gonna build this and that without a plan. Still studying Degree... Not graduated... Probably mama boy's fund. I don't rike that.

Any other competition that pay as well or close to the international prize money.

By far, this is the first in history and most of the other E-Sports game players are also looking at this game somehow.

But hopefully each month it's just $5 million to $10 million. Should not go overhead... May get out of reach! Might even need Top 32 teams competing next time!

Fighting on equal with LGD but overall Titan has never failed in big events (ex-Orange). Let's just support them.
