First thing you want to win with Pudge is to master his hooks. Oh and make sure that you are not afraid to use your hook. Even though it failed at least you tried. If you keep on thinking that what if I miss, will I look bad etc, you will never improve.

Pudge not necessarily must go mid. Actually I would prefer a side lane Pudge preferably Radiant or Scourge's offlane where you can hide in the trees with a teammate (disabler preferred).

But of course Pudge need his levels to gain larger range hooks. So mid has it benefits.

Usage of smoke for Pudge is important as well as positioning. You can use quelling blade to create a non-common spot for unsuspected hook.

Oh and if you have a dragonclaw hook, somehow it seems the hook area is a teeny weeny bit larger but maybe thats only me

Haha... Once you are comfortable at hooking, faking hooks is the way to go... Always use that to read your victim's movement and force your victim to walk in a predicted path.

i just checked dotabuff - i have a 59% win rate when i'm in radiant and 46% win rate in dire.. give radiant please
but seriously i really think that the laning phase (creep blocking, rune checking, creep pull, jungle etc.) are all easier when I'm on the radiant side

You know the problem I see with most pudge? They don't gank, until like after the 20 mins mark.
The single, most important thing for a pudge is to go get easy kills at the 10 mins mark, snowball early and no one touches you ever again (unless there is an out of control naix).

Like really... I don't get why so many pudges just prefer to farm in the lane or hope for a lucky hook until they have several core items up.

And stop trying to play like Dendi, this goes for all you pudges out there. Goodness sake.

If you're having difficulty with Invoker, just go QE and rush Necro. Worst come worst case feed also can still take towers.

as new invoker, best to go QW first.

Item, make phase boots ,magic wand, force staff/dagger, orchid, Agh, eul, necrobook

Take midlane, harass opponent with QQQ coldsnap, and regen with QQQ too.

try to go higher Wex than Quas, for tornado dmg (2x multipler more than 1x for Q) and range.

Then use tornado > EMP (WWW) > coldsnap combo, you can join initiate any teamfight at top/bot lanes.

EMP will restore your mana and burn opponents mana (550 mana burnt max W)

Once in danger, or when you wan to farm safely, make sure you already invoke Ghost Walk QQW as the earlier invoke (which a new invoke would remove it), with ghost walk on your skill, use WWW for easy escape on most situations (your walk speed will be very high).

On high level, when your E is higher lvl, you can add new combo

1) Tornado / eul opponent > Sunstrike in split sec > meteor followed > QWE (defeaning blast) when opponents come off from tornado.

2) always open EEQ (forged spirit) when both Q and E are level 4. Use C to control both, just use it to hit tanky heroes (-1 armor per hit) during teamfight or use them on weak support. If ganking only one target, open forged spirit and use coldsnap. or simply ghost walk and use icewall then open forged spirit.

More or less like this, try them in bot matches or normal matches first.
