Maltodextrin (not glucose polymers, no oats or waxy maize shit)
Why would you not want oats in your gainer? I'd rather have oats and quinoa as my carb source in a gainer rather than maltodextrin, waxy maize, dextrose, etc.

What science have you been reading?

I've stumbled upon some feedback on taurine and glycine from MucleTech rep.

Question: "why does phase8 have taurine and glycine listed in the ingredients. Are you guys using this as a cheap filler ingredient?"
"Taurine is the second most abundant free amino acid in muscle after glutamine. While we can make taurine through natural biological pathways, this process is not very active in humans, and dietary supplementation can therefore help. Although not directly incorporated into muscle proteins, taurine can have several important properties including helping with cell-volumization, which research suggests is linked to the promotion of anabolic activity. Research even suggests that taurine may have a role in supporting exercise performance.

Glycine is the simplest of amino acids and is considered non-essential because humans can produce it naturally. Nonetheless, glycine is important for protein synthesis, especially in proteins such as collagen, a major stress-bearing component of connective tissues including ligaments and tendons. Glycine is also important in the natural synthesis of creatine. You can enjoy your Phase8 and know that its designed to keep you in a prolonged anabolic/anti-catabolic state. "

Glycine and Taurine have their uses and benefits.
But the problem we're facing here is that some companies add it to their protein count.

how about this one? i think this is the best that i found
26.4x4/107 = 98% protein per serving
or am I wrong?

88g protein/100g powder = 88%
2.1g carb/100g powder = 2.1%
0.4g fat/100g powder = 0.4%

Remainder are flavouring and others.
And yes, there are no added amino acids as shown by the ingredient label. That label shows the protein as two types of whey isolates.

Taurine and L-glycine have their own performance uses. Besides, that you posted are bulk, not used to spike protein testing.

saw a protein yesterday

serving size = 26.5g
protein per serving = 24g

in this case, how do we review this product? good?

Always look at the ingredient label.
If I am right, it has been spiked with L-Glycine.

I think at the moment they are reformulating their whey protein series. Most companies are since the protein spike thing.

From the label when it says sachets, I already know it is those herbalife thingy and expects to be super overpriced. I am asking how do you determine it is spiked?
