Mass gainers is nearly all sugars and carbs with small amounts of protein thrown in.

Rather drink Milo and add some protein powder on the sideĀ  biggrin.gif

I am abit itchy and did some calculation base on 2 approaches
1. Milo
2. ON Serious Mass

Price is base on TESCO and MuscleMania
A pack of 2kg Milo cost RM31.99
http://eshop.tesco.com.my/en-GB/ProductDet...tail/7000122955

ON Serious Mass cost RM179
https://www.musclemaniaclub.net/optimum-nut...ion/seriousmass

Price per serving
Milo
20.1g carb 4g protein = RM0.48

ON Serious Mass
249g carb + 50g protein = RM11.20

Milo
In order to get 249g carb, we need 12.3 servings of Milos, which also comes with 49.2g protein

Therefore
Milo x 12.3 = RM0.48x 12.3 = RM5.904

RM11.20(334g per serving) vs RM5.904(369g per serving)
The serving is roughly the same but milo is much cheaper version of mass gainer, provided with that amount, you need to also swallow a tank of water to prevent heaty effect. thumbup.gif

1kg egg will give you same amount of calories with 1kg of milo. see myfitnesspal so?
*
It is ok if you're trying to be ignorant. You can opt for pure sugar instead. It is way cheaper "calories"
What I'm comparing is the macro nutrition, not calories.

those figures in mfp are all user generated.
so if u dont agree, u can always create ur own data.
*
Reason why I don use mfp, the data is not accurate

That guy must have misread myfitnesspal like you do.  laugh.gif

Only crazy ppl eat 1kg chicken breast per day. Yes i helps to build ur muscle by sacrificing ur health.
*
To be exact, sacrificing micros from other food

the amount of protein per serving, spiked or otherwise, is enough to justify not buying it.
*
Compared to on whey
24g protein from 31g per scoop, 77.41% is from protein
5g protein from 6.3g per scoop, 79.36% is from protein

The ratio is so near, how do you determine it is spiked?

QUOTE(darrenwks @ Jun 25 2016, 11:37 PM)
May i ask TS what supplements are u using?  They say blend and whey are just the same right only from different sources protein.

Is protein isolate really worth the money?

If im trying not to gain much weight should i stop using creatine?

Do u guys recommend cardio to lose weight? or keep lifting?
*
Why creatine makes you gain weight?

I'm not doubting the quality of the protein. I'm just saying you only get 5g of protein per serving. You will need 5 servings to match ON whey 1 serving in terms of protein amount. For 300g that's almost like 9 servings of ON whey for RM60. How's that considered good?
*
From the label when it says sachets, I already know it is those herbalife thingy and expects to be super overpriced. I am asking how do you determine it is spiked?

Hi. Recently I started to get back into training after leaving the gym/workouts for almost 10 years (got married, had kids, work, postgrad studies)
Have lost 12kg in 7 months and BMI just reached normal but body fat % is still #$%@#

Starting to track macros and realized its difficult for me to reach my daily protein goal with normal diet + calorie restriction

I wonder why there is no review on GNC Amplified Gold Whey Protein Advanced...

The supplement is abt the same when compared to high raved Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard (GNC one has less calories, less carb, less fat, but less sodium) and price is surprisingly THE SAME at GNC stores..

Is there specific reasons why GNC protein did not receive same recognition here?
*
Try look further than just GNC stores you'll know the reason. Why you so afraid of sodium? Do you know human need sodium to survive?
