after doing a routine jog every 4 times a week, i encounter pain all over my body.... knees, neck or arms. I was reco to take whey protein right after a jog to help recover my musles. Is this true?

I am abit itchy and did some calculation base on 2 approaches
1. Milo + ON Whey Gold Standard
2. ON Serious Mass

Price is base on TESCO and MuscleMania
A pack of 2kg Milo cost RM31.99
http://eshop.tesco.com.my/en-GB/ProductDet...tail/7000122955

ON Whey Gold Standard cost RM369
https://www.musclemaniaclub.net/optimum-nut...on/onwheygold10

ON Serious Mass cost RM179
https://www.musclemaniaclub.net/optimum-nut...ion/seriousmass

Price per serving
Milo
20.1g carb = RM0.48

ON Whey
24g protein = RM2.4765

ON Serious Mass
249g carb + 50g protein = RM11.20

Milo + ON Whey Gold Standard
In order to get 249g carb, we need 12.3 servings of Milos
In order to get 50g protein we need 2x ON Whey

Therefore
(Milo x 12.3) + (ON whey 24g x 2) = (RM0.48x 12.3) + (RM2.4765 x 2) = RM10.857

RM11.20 vs RM10.857
Amazingly, the price is roughly the same, Milo is as overpriced as mass gainer. Your call lol  rclxm9.gif

u forgot milo also has 4gm protein per serving whistling.gif

those figures in mfp are all user generated.
so if u dont agree, u can always create ur own data.

is ur mfp broken, or u lookin at wrong figures.
1kg of egg = 1400 cal.
1kg of milo = 3630 cal.

Reason why I don use mfp, the data is not accurate
To be exact, sacrificing micros from other food

no one said u have to always use the data since can create ur or scan barcode of the item.

Why do you want to change supplement always?
A: some claimed that when your body get used to the supplement, there will be no stimulation from that supplement.

Mass is useless. Just take whey protein if you want. And eat plenty of carbs.
I am too skinny to muscle. I tend to eat more but due to limited choices (vege diet), I hardly find any "delicious" food to feed my desire. This is why I take mass for long period as it was instant result if I take more. However, I once took whey protein but I did not see any obvious result (weight gain), it just remained at same figure along the way I took whey.

I wish to get your advise on this claim.

TQ

supplement can be considered just food in powder form.

again, count ur calories.
u need something to quantify what ur doing...rather than just say 'im eating alot'...cos u wont be able to track progress properly.
eg. my breakfast sometimes up to 800-900 calories...but i can feel hungry a couple hours after that...cos its not heavy just the food lots of calories.
or i can have a slightly heavy breakfast but only 400-500 calories...so will feel pretty full for next few hours...all depends what u eat.
doesnt mean eat alot means lots of calories.

vege diet plenty of options...u just need to explore more...not just salad.
even mixed rice stalls, lots of tofu cooked diff ways, vegies, baked beans, egg, rice etc etc.
easily can hit 600-700 calories and feel full already.
then if u want add ur supplements to meet more protein...already 900 calories in 1 meal.

then u slowly modify based on ur daily calorie intake...sure can easily take in 2000-2500 calories min every day...

I heard that changing routine can stimulate our muscle as well. May i know how frequent you change your training routine?
*
no real change... just adding / modifying.
mostly revolve around strength /increasing power to weight ratio / dropping weight class tongue.gif
currently trying to cut 2-3 kg...so mostly now getting intimate with 15-25kg dumbells for next 2-3 months...still same stuff... usual press curls etc...and add in short 3km runs at pace of just under 8min/km twice a week just as an excuse to maintain strength and burn more calories.

I read the first page of this thread... but one thing is slightly confusing me - Optimum Nutrition's Whey protein is supposed to be one of the best right? The first ingredient on it is still "Protein blend", which the first post implies to be bad. I can only summise that "protein blend" being the first ingredient cannot be generalised as bad then?
*
try reading the first page again properly this time, and then look at the ON label properly also.
ON's protein blend consists of whey etc.

also if ur lazy to read all like i am, at least read the ending...
QUOTE
So basically if you want a good protein, read the label. You want around 30 serve [not 40!] to have around 23-27 grams of protein [depending on concentrate or isolate] with 2-4 grams carbs and fat combined

ON serving is 30.4 gms which contains 24 gms of protein.

i never kena acne before from taking ON.
just early on as body adapted, lots of gas.
now like normal only.

i think if ur getting acne, then u should also start looking at other causes...like ur environment...maybe always inside aircon room etc.

You only will kena if you have acne in the first place. Acne (NOT PIMPLES)  is not caused by environment aircon or all that.

Whey aggravates acne ALOT!. But of course if you don't have acne in the first place there's nothing to aggravate.
*
uhh if i already have acne, then of cos ON is not causing it as I already have it...
the guy who started this said ON caused acne... not aggravating an existing condition.

If somebody have alittle acne, then he take whey, and it cause his acne to become aloot. Surely he'll come to forum and say whey cause acne. Takkan he gonna double check his vocabulary and adjectives in a dictionary before posting here... common sense.
*
im sure that person is smart enough to look at himself to see if he has any existing acne.
the above already said 'face smooth like celebrity'.

rm284... almost same as myprotein... do check out myprotein. is pretty good product. you can check out labdoor.

usually i look for no sugar and natural whey. UN prostar has it... ON used to but no longer taking in here in msia.... rule1 has it too but with sweetener... i might wanna try myprotein next depend on the price..
*
ON natural whey? isolate?
only thing nice about ON is it doesnt taste sweet...guess some call it bland...

does any physical shop around PJ stock UN?
