For a newcomer to the game, which realm should I create my character on? Looking forward to joining a guild and enjoying end-game content. However, I dont think I will get to lvl 60 that fast, as this sem my workload is higher. Moreover, if I do get to 60, would those in current guilds still want to run the lower instances with me?

any realm. depends if you like pvp or not. if you really want to pvp, go to a pvp server. pve servers also offer pvp but only in battlegrounds, you can't pvp outside.
as for guildies helping out with lower instances, yes they will. unless you go to a guild who has members who are unwilling to help. they will help run you through instances if you ask nicely.

Join oceanic bartillas which is a pvp server.. There's no point joining those old servers because if you wanna see end game...most of the good guilds are already full and won't accept anymore classes.
The bartillas server is still young...almost three months now and they follow aussie timezone which is an ideal server for you to play..
