Hey dudes,
Earlier I did some tracing (just the outline) of some character, and I import to stage in Flash, but how do I break them apart, so that I can adjust the legs or hands? I tried convert to Graphic then break apart twice, but the second time break apart, there will be a red box covering the whole character.

Select the part that you want like hand, cut it off and paste to other place and convert it to another entity.

QUOTE(Dark Steno @ Aug 13 2006, 11:40 AM) Select the part that you want like hand, cut it off and paste to other place and convert it to another entity. I'm noob in Flash, so please be tolerate with me. So you are saying that, the cut and paste do it in Illustrator or Photoshop? So, let's say is only the body and legs are separated, so I have to import to stage twice. Or do it in Flash? The problem is, when I click the character (selection tool), it will select the whole character, and I can't cut the part that I want.

maybe u didnt export in vector format.
Best way is to trace your character directly in flash.

Don't simply click but drag the area that you want to be seperated.

ok.... if u using illustrator... u can export as swf and preserve editable.. when u import to flash.. u can control the outlines... how to control the lines.. ok use the white arrow ( beside the black arrow ) OR .. u can hover you mouse above the line.. as fast as lightning u hold and drag the line and can make a curve from it.. if u click terus the line.. that means u select the line and drag it.. remember when break apart... no need to break apart till last step.. break apart till u can see the outline separate from the fill.

Dude, i just tried again but it doesn't work the way that I want. I export to .swf, then import to stage in flash, from there I can control the outlines, that when I insert keyframe, the character disappear, left only the hair. Before that, i convert it to graphic, then break apart twice, then I'm able to see the outlines is being highlighted. I convert to graphic because I turn on the motion tween. After that I insert a keyframe, then the character cannot be seen, left only the hair, i haven't move the character also ler. Why is this? .swf file?
