Now, before the cowardly cabrones with no cojones come out of the woodwork,
BlackBerry 10 was already able to play with APKs.
Now, BlackBerry officially partners with Amazon! Hell yeah!
sos kicap: Michael Clewly's BBM Channel.
P/S : if you don't know Michael Clewly, google up. P/S 2: If you don't know BBM, you're out of date. P/S 3: If you don't know what is Channels, you're seriously out of date. Even if you're using a phone that has a bitten fruit logo on it, or powered by some green looking trash that is one badly done imitation of Oscar from Sesame Street.

Press release from blogs.blackberry.com QUOTE We’ve heard your appeals for access to more applications for your BlackBerry 10 device and we are delivering. We have announced a licensing agreement for the Amazon Appstore to bring more than 200,000 Android apps to you this fall when the BlackBerry 10.3 operating system launches.
You will be able to access popular apps such as Groupon, Netflix, Pinterest, Candy Crush Saga and Minecraft – all available for direct download!
But you also have choices. We will continue to offer BlackBerry World, where you can access applications that leverage the powerful features of the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
That’s two stores – with more apps – and greater choices.
In addition to the greater selection of apps, you will be able to access video and music services through a number of popular third party services available through the Amazon Appstore and BlackBerry World. While BlackBerry World will continue to offer music and video services via third party applications – again giving you more choices for your valued content — we will be closing the music and video sections of our store on July 21st. Don’t worry! Previously downloaded content will be available after that date through MyWorld.
Stay tuned for more information about the Amazon Appstore offering coming to you soon.
We’re excited to be working with Amazon to deliver the apps and content that you’ve been looking for. It’s an exciting new day for BlackBerry 10 device owners. We look forward to hearing from you about what apps you are looking forward to downloading.

yea saw the news in a twitter post, awesome news! hopefully it will allow us to control permissions as if it was a native app (too much?). and hopefully hopefully, it will influence Amazon to open shop in emerging markets like SEA (definitely way too much).
how do you think it will affect BB and the users Hyper?

What I understand is this:
1. BlackBerry wants native developers to continue developing native apps. At the same time, they encourage these devs to code for the Amazon App store (no google play, strictly speaking).
So, this means native devs are also encouraged to dev and maintain a version for Amazon Appstore. Makes sense since devs on Amazon App store actually DO MAKE A WHOLE LOT MORE MONEY.
2. If your app is just "converted", (that means its an app for BlackBerry 10, but only "convert, not native", it will be 'pushed' to be published on Amazon Store instead. So that means, no more "none native" apps in BlackBerry World.
3. Some developers are already whining because they will lose incentive to develop for BlackBerry 10. I say its the OTHER way around. We don't get much good apps. Case point?
Look at Skype. Look at Tango. Look at Viber. Look at Flipboard.
A lot of these aren't native, and they don't provide the users with "optimal experiences".
Let's look at some BETTER MADE apps.
Blaq - paid. A Twitter app. Mesengger - paid. A FaceBook Messsenger replacement, which is VERY BEAUTIFULLY DONE. iGrann - free. A wonderfully designed instagram app for BlackBerry. Mockit - Freemium. (upgrade features, pay more!) This is a meme generator, with a lot of power tools in it. Snap2Chatlite - free. pay and you get upgraded to Snap2chat full. Its a snapchat client that's .. let's just say its more powerful than the original snapchat.
Unless, you get natively done for BlackBerry 10 from those companies in-house. But it does not change the fact that you should be able to run all Amazon apps wonderfully.
Yes, these are paid apps. But I'm more willing to pay these BlackBerry developers because the way they made the apps are so good, even if I don't use the service I start to learn to use because I've seen how it works for others, and frankly speaking the apps made it use them, even I don't use the apps on Android (like snapchat, like mockit, etc), or god forbid, FaceBook.
On the other hand,
- BlackBerry will close down its videos and music store. - US users will see that their videos and music are catered from Amazon. - International users, we'll see. But consumption media is now provided by Amazon (not bad), and there is still a way for us to buy from Amazon USA.
will edit more once I fully understand what the heck is going on at the developer's side of things.

When September comes, we'll get BlackBerry Passport. It would have the AMAZON APP in it.
Rumours are rife that this isn't the APK Store, but more of a store in .BAR, but still connects to the Amazon services (native experience, but still downloaded files are .APK)
full feature will be available for current 10 owners via 10.3.1 (Passport and Q20 launching with 10.3.0)

Can we in Malaysia download app from amazon?
I have installed amazon.apk to my BB Z30 but cant download apps through it and I also try to download through amazon.com store but still cannot because Malaysia is not one of the region that amazon extended it service. If that is the case eventhough amazon is BB partner, its really not a good news to Malaysian

Hopefully Amazon will extend it's service for worldwide. I mean no point having a partnership and only have services in certain region. BB will also want their user/customer to have the best in terms of apps selection. They are already being ridiculed for a lousy apps store; that's why they wanna work with Amazon.
Let's see how it goes.

i am wondering apps for the q10 and passport .
If the developer didn't make the apps for these resolution , is kind of weird to use it in a non proper scale screen.

I assume locoric is sharing the same worries with Cryptic. Well as far as I know, some devs have actually seen it for themselves that the NEWER and LATEST android app player on 10.3 is frickin' awesome, just like a real android device (minus the caveats of being spied by Google, unless you give permissions, and yes, you get FULL permission controls) At that logic, its actually quite daring of me to say that BlackBerry 10.3 will give a better Android experience than Android phones. Update:
Amazon App Store is now LIVE for Malaysia (as of 2 days ago of this writing)
However, we cannot get the free app of the day (sad!) Still,
1. we can buy from Amazon app store 2. We can install it natively into BlackBerry (apk version while waiting for the Cascades version to be released soon)
