No doubt in 97 crisis, there are some, I would said "greedy" people buying lots of properties n kena. But those are not that many actually which I mean kena the crisis n need to bankrupt n run road or jump.

majority of masses who buy properties now are working class n their purchase power are mostly determined by the banks whether to grant them loan or not based on their salaries. Sorry that your relative is one of them. Bet today he has recovered.

I am not the luckiest person. I only invest in what I affordable. Salary cut till 50%, I have not heard any during that time. Mostly freeze increment n some minor cut up to 20%. My close buddy who is a lawyer in Danaharta also got lots of stories to tell during that 97-05 period during teh tarik every weekend. Where are these distress factories, land bank etc from those companies who needs to restructure etc etc...dont just I just read from news only hor...

Actually starting 2012 rich people already slow down the purchase but they still continue to bbbb when have a good launching. They not really afraid because most of them already sold some unit that bought in 2008 for a handsome profit or he can leveraging In case anything bad happen.
U can wait but I doubt in future whether u can get any decent 1000 sq ft below 600k..

If u already have property then no harm u can wait for price correction to buy more..even price won't drop u still holding something..
If u intend to buy your first house and hope for major correction i think u can forget it.
Either u pay current price or take the risk of price increase in future.

I believe there will be price correction but only apply to certain product and location.
Most important it is totally product that not suit for first time home buyer.

you may write very long but at the end, it all depends on demand. demand comes from the professional salary. but the thing is the increment of the salary is not on par with the property increment...this also have to factor in the bank interests. even both husband and wife combine at times it cant match with the way property price is being hike up. it's true the property rpice can rise up to whatever level that many investors or property agents are hoping, the only thing is majority wont be able to buy it...that's all.

they will just see and walk off going to the next more cheaper options. it will come to a point whereby ppl cant force themselves to buy just because of the "if you dont buy now later will become expensive". It's better to pass the purchase of such unit now rather than to regret not able to service the monthly loan payment later on...no matter how "encouraging" those ppl say about property, at the end, words will remain cheap....reality unfortunately isnt.
