fellow forumers, i was kinda thinking how we can survive a zombie apocalypse in malaysia.... what are the chances our country will survive and how long we can stay alive?? few points to be noted are,

1. our country is highly populated and its going to be difficult
2. no huge mountains or hills to have high ground advantage
3. no significant agriculture fields in major cities
4. no significant river bases in cities or in towns
5. since we have many high rises condos and apartment its dangerous to take shelter in them
6. availability of fire arm is very few

i think we cant survive after 3 months
considering all the facts how will you survive and what will you do

note- if mod consider this topic is not suitable here please move to anywhere other than kopitiam since im looking for genuine answers not trolls for this topic.. tq

- Malaysia is not a large country. a few days travel (walking) is enough to access agricultural land where you can grow stuff.
- depending on how many people then, you can live on island. if zombie want to walk underwater (since they are dead and no longer have to breathe) the sharks can finish them off.
- its warm climate mostly with monsoon season. so we won't have food problem.
- etc etc etc.
- but i don't think it would be a great deal. an ustaz chanting stuff for a few minutes and the zombie outbreak will end instantly, just like the ending of local ghost movies

Erm, I reckon most of us will turn into the so-called zombies first. The odds are simply less in our favours. But if you are immune, I guess living in the island is the most probable solution. So, book your place in Pulau Langkawi! Lots of molotov materials, if you ask me.

1st of all, malaysia is not a high density country compare to china, singapore, taiwan, hongkong. so our chance of surviving is higher compare to them. the fact that we have long coast line is another good point of surviving since we can simply sail off to maybe indonesia which hopefully didnt not have the zombies. however, for us to go from house to the sea is another problem since most of do not know how to use a gun and do not have a gun, and we are relying on gps to go from cities to port are all the down side

3. How do zombies die? Can they even last 3 months in our climate? Would they not have rotted away much earlier? Living in this warm and wet climate may be a plus. You don't have to hold up for 3 months.

the zombie that we fantasize wont happen in real world. But there is a type of drug, upon consuming, u will feel ur body is burning, u will have the urge of cannibalism. Just go google it, it happen in the US before, I think Florida. A guy was chewing another human being, he was shot or caught, I forgot dy, and they found out he consume 1 type of drug. Which give u hallucination and make u have the urge to be cannabalism.


So if the drug is used in a wrong way, it may occur.

There are questions for TS and fellow forumers fom Lowyat.net, since zombie is a dead body, it means that all the cells in the body are dead. Brain, nerve, muscle, digestive systems.... everything is dead and not functioning.

They don't need food. Why zombie bite?
They don't have energy or any cells with life. Why/How zombie move?
They don't have brain. Why/How they hunt ppl or animal or living creature?

So far we don't see any dead body can move. We know there are always "first time" but is there any logical reason that can persuade or proof that this so called zombie can perform the above simple moves? And how a human become zombie?

If everything can be proven, then I think we can discuss the topic as TS proposed..

Just follow the rules:

i think these zombies will not exist, but the "zombies" in "28 days later" and "i am legend" may happen, because, virus.


i.e. the "zombies" in "28 days later" and "i am legend" are not dead, but live humans, due to virus, become crazy liao, then they go bite people to infect the virus.

the ones in "28 days later" seems to be normal human beings, and can be killed, but somehow they run very fast.

the ones in "i am legend" seems to be super human beings, very fast, very strong, have some intelligence. lives together. scared of the daylight sun. the process seems to be reversible as shown in the "i am legend" movie.

both of these can be killed, not just head shot only, since the cells are very much alive.
but dun let them bite you.

well instead of bombaring staircase i think it would be better to block it off complete...and get ready at least 2 emergency exits...and one normal exits...normals via rope or generator powered lift (those use to clean buildings one) and one rope to nearby balcony...block off certain rooms by rooms...create your own exits...

I am more terrified of humans than zombies if there is ever a zombie apocalypse. One should be worry of that instead of zombies.

After watching so many zombie flicks / manga / anime. Humans are truly more fearful than the living dead.

For example.. someone mentioned go police station to stockpile weapons.. the truth is; do you think you're the only one there? you might end up killed by another living human rather by zombie

restaurant you can find them easily ... sometime entire family is affected ...

Being killed might be a privilege at that time, imagine they keep you alive as bait, entertainment etc. Urgh, I really don't know how to trust another human being aside from my family members in a zombie-infested world.

After playing through Walking Dead by Telltale, at times it might be just easiest to shoot all other survivors you meet.

no...according to him, it is a children's "thing" to have anything related to video games as a source of entertainment. His fear of zombies stems from real life scenarios..........which originate from fantasy, which to him is reality.

After playing the Last of Us, I truly can see no people like me can survive coz I'm not going to kill other people. Even if I'm the innocent type, there will be people who is more powerful and will force me to join them as their recruits and ask me to kill people I never knew. That game is crazy, I know it's not real, but the feeling I got especially in the sewers with children part really got me thinking so deeply.

I played walking dead as well. But I never came to that conclusion. I guess if I meet you during zombie apocalypse, high chance you'll shoot me.

Well, it seems that you're in the first season. Quickly finish it, download the 400 days, only then start playing season 2.

lowyard Wouldn't it make you doubt/suspect someone else to protect your family or your stuff? A good guy might shoot/rob you just because he is doing it for his family etc, or a bunch of normal folks might just turned out to be crazy folks etc. Really hard to trust anyone at all in such situation hahaha.

I don't think we need to prepare ourselves for a scenario as far-fetched as zombies for our country, as a small disaster would be enough to turn into apocalypse here. Our social structure is too fragile to handle a disaster when you already facing serious problems with the useless government, races, foreign labors and 0 military preparedness even when there is no disaster.

In modern zombie movies, other people are always portrayed as the main threat. Focusing on surviving against other people in an apocalyptic scenario (societal breakdown, pandemic, natural disaster) is far more important than surviving against zombies.

Therefore what you plan and play out in your mind to prepare against this childish notion of a "zombie apocalypse" should be more or less applicable to real life scenarios as long as you put more weight on the human threat aspect.

Playing along with your game, specifically for Malaysia, definitely the ones with the guns and more prone to violence (samseng, polis, etc) will take care of themselves first. Gangs will be formed, stealing property from others, stockpiling all the looted food, medication, and kicking out everyone else not in their interest.

The less aggressive common folk will band together into submissive groups begging for scraps from the superior gangs, trading themselves as labour or sexual slaves in exchange for food and shelter. Some wannabe hero groups may form to fight this "injustice" but most probably will taken out or absorbed into the gangs once given a taste of the "riches".

I agree with TS topic and questions, quite a valid concern. Here's some ideas I can think of at this moment.

1) Every house build a bunker. Hide away from the zombies, like what happened to Priests movie.

2) We do not have gun as weapon. So we need use every available primitive methods such as traditional traps, paint gun, screw driver, and so on. Always aim for the zombies heads and slash twice for zombie dai confirmation.

3) Food supply, hmmm. This is a bit tough unless we live at coastlands and nearby rivers and islands as suggested by some forumers. Grow own food at our own gardens la.

But Mareshia got a lot of zombie liao.
