May I know your cgpa? And what did you rank both on the list, respectively. Just wondering since i was gonna go for law in UM but changed my mind.

I got 4.0 in Arts Stream. I placed law @ d top of my list, followed by accounting. Which course did u select as yr 1st choice then? hmm.gif

Can I know what's your results of Additional Mathematics?

Because in science stream, you need to have at least mastered basic knowledge in Physics, Additional Mathematics and Chemistry during SPM level.

Since you are interested in becoming Nuclear Engineer, then I suppose you wanted to enter Physics Stream for STPM?

Judging from your results, you will have a very hard time during STPM, unless you put in a lot of effort and not giving up.

Chances of you getting back to science stream is quite slim, but no harm trying it.

If you want to transfer to another school, it's preferable to straight away meet the principal of another school than applying through Jabatan. Jabatan won't give a damn towards your application to changing schools during form six.

ps: If you really, really wanted to be a nuclear engineer, why don't you find any IPTS offering this course and study foundation which leads to the degree straight away?

Hi Guys,
I just started out my STPM.
But I have a very important question.
The teacher-in-charge said my chance of changing beck to Science Stream is 15-30 percent as I said before.
So my mum suggest me to continue in Humanity sadly to see if it interest me or not.
So here the question.
After my STPM in Humanity stream, if I still want to continue in Physic & Chemistry fields, is there any option for me like umm... diploma or foundation something like that.

Then you wasted your precious 2 years in STPM.
Better go to foundation/diploma right now if you want to continue in science fields.

Good luck to you too!

Question, if I got a course that I don't want can request to switch course or not? For example I applied for TESL as first choice, then computer science as second choice, but I still prefer to be a teacher. If given computer science, can I accept then go request switch course from the uni itself?

Hi everyone, you can now check the university admissions results from UM, USM & UPU. UM & USM's admission results can be checked online but for UPU, I think we have to SMS for the result. icon_rolleyes.gif

For those STPM 14/15 batches:

We had struggled for one and a half year in STPM. STPM is a tough journey, and of course, we went through ups and downs during our school life. STPM had definitely taught me to look at life in different perspectives. Sometimes failures didn't indicate the end of the world, but it acts as a blessing in disguise: To push our limits further, because we believe that we can do it better next time. We had also learnt that 'what we sow is what we reap', where those who spent their efforts in their studies will get good results. We discovered several friends too who are able to help us even if we are down, and for some people, they are able to seek true friendships as the saying goes 'a friend in need is a friend indeed'.

By looking back at ourselves before the one and a half year, we had definitely improved, we are able to think more carefully before deciding on our actions. We have a clearer path on which course should we take as compared to us before taking STPM. And we believe that we can survive in the next 3-4 years of university life because we had been in tough situations before. Even though we are at a disadvantage in enrolling into local government universities, but we are at an advantage in learning pace during university life.

We did it! By now we should be heading into universities soon, congratulations to those who got enrolled into their dream universities with their desired course of choice, but for those who didn't, don't be disappointed, when there's a will, there's a way. Thank you for doing your best in STPM, this will be an unforgettable memory in most of us. All the best in uni life! flex.gif

(PS: I will still keep this thread open, just in case)

2015/2016 STPM graduate here~
I wanna ask something. I am a science stream student, under Physics. I'm currently waiting for my overall results to be out at 28th Feb. However, I'm still abit confused about what course I'm suppose to choose. Personally, I love Mathematics as I like how it can explain something instead of just purely memorizing.
So far, I've researched briefly about Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Actuarial Science. Sad to say, I still don't know much about the difference between them.

Soooooooo, kind souls here, anyone can explain to me or at least point out to me which one suits me better? biggrin.gif THANK YOU <3
