if the total is not that expensive (>rm20 per set), I want one set of 50g normal springs and another "68g - 72g" normal springs. Trying both of the spring weight spectrum.
Would using a 50g springs on clears will make the spring cant return to normal position?

Not sure about 50g, some ppl tested 45g the mx clear will stuck occasionally then wont bounce back when pressed.
*
so going for 55g is safer? anyways, im in for 2 sets.

Right now I'm finding supplier willing is willing to make the plates for us. So far, I'm sending them the ergodox litster case as the test and see how much they wanna quote for that. If they're not too expensive, we can start thinking about making our own MKBs!
*
Serious? If it look something like the ones from here then Im in. Need to support you guys!

I've manage to get my case into production today, the total price was RM141.50 (1.5mm aluminium top, 1mm bottom, 3x3mm acrylic layer in the middle) at SC lasercut. If you find other company quotation quite high, try Sc Lasercut because seems like that the cheapest company I can find so far. But have to go there directly because they seems to be slow in replying email.
*
Is the price with the materials? Or just the cutting price?

I'm planning to buy a keyboard mainly for typing purpose.

I type a lot but I don't game. I used to play with the IBM keyboard when I was young and missed that feeling.

So, I planned to buy from Unicomp, but the shipping is almost as expensive as the keyboard itself. Anyone has any idea where else I can get the keyboard, or just to minimize the shipping.

Or else, any other keyboard that can give off the same feeling? I'm not sure if switches and spring will give off the same feel.
*
Get a IBM model M lah. Thats the one with the buckling springs with the awesome type feel. Whats your total budget with shipping?

Quite high, but I was just conned off RM3K. T.T .I definitely no longer has the budget to support any splurging.
I went and saw some Model-M/ Unicomp on taobao. Any concerns trying to get it from there?
*
I got mine there. Priced also okay, shipping is expensive because of the weight. Kinda sad that the guy who owned it previously changed the screws to nuts, and now Im still trying to find the nut size to open it up. Other than that, it works perfectly. All keycaps are fine, springs feels nice, and when it arrived, was packaged nicely. Just want to find the nut size so I can mod it.

If Im not mistaken, its about rm180 with shipping and all. Mine is a used set, so without the box.

Just took my case, open and check. Sh** should have check at the shop, was in rush to beat sg buloh rush hour traffic sad.gif

The cut is good, because accordcing to matt3o, the cut tolerance might be different with different machine. Some of his case were a bit loose due to different laser cut vendor.

My complaint, really SC Laser Cut? Should have check on the spot instead of trusting you guys.

Laser burn on acrylic

mmm......

Scratches on aluminium plate, there's more actually.

Overall, its ok, but would have expect a much better finishing. Guess cheap comes at a price. Maybe I'll send it for polish or powder coating or something.
*
Totally need to do QC after picking in up, maybe you can get it replaced, for things like the laser burn. That would look ugly if not done anything to it, and straight into a case. Condolences my friend.

Can't replace keycaps easily. You'll have a tough time scouring for keycaps that'll fit, look nice and have high quality.
Ergo clear = hnnnngggghhhhhhhhh

I like using 55g on my alphanumerics and 62g on my mods. They're a joy to type on. I would have modded my TKL to ergo clears but I'm planning on giving it away once my lightsaver comes in, so....
*
Reason why I'm buying the 55g springs to mod my clears later. Also getting 70g to mod mx blues to make a ghetto greens. Wanna try the ergo clears. rclxms.gif

Ghetto green is black springs under blues.... you're using first-world grade springs, no street cred for your ghetto...

Haha, Owh yeah, so maybe gotta rename to "lavish" greens. Can't wait to try them out!

Guess I'll just get some clear switches and mod them if no want wants it.
*
Not that no one want to buy, its just that dont have money right now. Been looking for a TKL for so long, but just bought other thing, so now broke already. And its blue switches also, once received the springs Ive ordered, can mod then. cry.gif

Never expect you suddenly feel want a MX Blue.  laugh.gif

Wanna try to mod ghetto greens, to have a "almost" buckling springs feel that more mobile than the ever heavy Model M. Im in that experimental phase. And most switches Ive tried, except vintage black, and more obscure swtiches. Wanna try everything! drool.gif
