Can your pinky reach the FN button comfortably? I have a hard time trying to press the far end of the shift key with my pinky when my fingers are on the home row.
*
Can't reach FN too. But almost no press that FN, so doesn't matter.

No remap function(FN) key because that key can't be remap.
No use those function keys so just put it there.

Enquired about pcb printing in my campus. Can print for free, use uv etching. But holes need to drill ownself. Gonna give printing gh60 a try first.

Not possible with gh60 if you want to put teensy on pcb unless removed 2 1u key as it is not designed for smd soldering AFAIK sad.gif Or rewire manually
Atmega32u is cheap, but but but tak faham the pin spec sheet. I think got around 24 usable pin. dadudeneverabides have any experience with atmega32u4 chip?

eh. come meet up lo :3
yeah that's the catch la. but nevermind ma we prototype first. the guy in charge of all PCB printing stuff said he can provide small board for free. sure cannot fit 61 keys inside :/ so we would have to get the PCB.

i think the atmega can solder this way since we're going to try gh60 first. imitate giler giler.

Also, if there's a way to add in PWM control for your teensy keyboard then i think we can make breathing light or whatnot. the problem is adding into the existing code and makefile. I've yet to go through the codes. when my switch comes, money comes (so I can get teensy from dadudeneverabides) then i'll try out a few stuff.

was thinking, what if we use teensy 3.1? there's a lot of onboard memory for us to do stuffs with, in which we would have to crack our heads.

teensy 2.0 got less. Teensy++ got more usable pins. For ergodox use around 19 pins. Need teensy++ if going fullsized

Teensy 2.0 enough memory to do a lot of shit already.

Even soarer's firmware uses about 50%++ only

I dont know about soarer's method, but hasu's compiled code only compatible with teensy 2.0/++, and only use around 76% of memory. Need a really good programmer to port to teensy 3. I did notice blink method in tmk keyboard, I'll try to take a look on that, though dont really put your hope too high because my programming is meeeh.

So far what possible with teensy (hasu's method)
- full nkro, but need to enable everytime disconnected
- full led by cheating the layer (not really a good method, but it work)

edit: You're a student and I'm a jobless grad, so yeah on money, but maybe I can donate a little for the prototype if you need it. Not much but wth laugh.gif

the only thing that you would have to donate is to donate your time and see if this is working good for you biggrin.gif

Sorry, but I cant test that out because it already have pre-config column and row matrix, and mine is non-standard. Someone with GHpad or KMAC might be able to test it out.

Easier to just get Taobao PCB fabs to make for you.
Just supply the necesary files.

Printing your own PCB isn't hard especially with UV. Beats the ferric chloride method.
But good luck drilling those holes. You would have to deal with a few drill bit sizes, and alignment might be an issue. It's not your everyday undergraduate electronics project.

Just pay the money and get the China people to do for you.

@faridr
What's your problem with the spec sheet again?
Reading spec sheet I do that a lot. Writing firmwares...maybe not.

Here is the spec sheet.
As far as I understand.
- UVCC, UGND , D+, D- is for usb pin
- Port B C D E F is the available pin, and port F seems to be analog.

No idea for the rest of the pin, and I have no idea if the atmega32u alone will work, or requires other component too. Firmware should be similar with teensy firmware since its the same controller.
