Alu top and layered. Layer can choose between acrylic and alu. Will also be using dampeners on screws to minimize vibrations (my biggest complaint coming to cherry switches is the hysteresis). Plate aiming for something similar to lightsaver, where you can mix and match.

Do the mix and match plate means that we can have different layout on a single pcb? Or i've gotten it wrong?

Single PCB with semi-flexible layout. The PCB should have multiple slots to accept different layouts.

Enquired about pcb printing in my campus. Can print for free, use uv etching. But holes need to drill ownself. Gonna give printing gh60 a try first.

Haha, yeah. I think they look bad with the default keycaps as well. But upon changing keycaps they're quite pretty. biggrin.gif

Oh you're right. Would be cool if there's a HHKB3 with that layout though.

That hhkb3 layout is fugly with additional useless modifier keys, and completely ruin HHKB name if really got that version.
What I like about HHKB is the original layout which is ergo and you will able to reach all the modifiers using touch typing.
When add extra modifiers on the corner left and those right, it's very hard to reach with your fingers.

The drawback of current HHKB2 was the 2 top right keys which is hardly reachable from right pinky fingers when your right index finger pressing on homing key.

Lol! The HHKB2 Japanese looks pretty much like the fake HHKB3 though... laugh.gif rolleyes.gif
Can your pinky reach the FN button comfortably? I have a hard time trying to press the far end of the shift key with my pinky when my fingers are on the home row.
