I dont know about soarer's method, but hasu's compiled code only compatible with teensy 2.0/++, and only use around 76% of memory. Need a really good programmer to port to teensy 3. I did notice blink method in tmk keyboard, I'll try to take a look on that, though dont really put your hope too high because my programming is meeeh.

So far what possible with teensy (hasu's method)
- full nkro, but need to enable everytime disconnected
- full led by cheating the layer (not really a good method, but it work)

edit: You're a student and I'm a jobless grad, so yeah on money, but maybe I can donate a little for the prototype if you need it. Not much but wth  laugh.gif
*
the only thing that you would have to donate is to donate your time and see if this is working good for you biggrin.gif

Easier to just get Taobao PCB fabs to make for you.
Just supply the necesary files.

Printing your own PCB isn't hard especially with UV. Beats the ferric chloride method.
But good luck drilling those holes. You would have to deal with a few drill bit sizes, and alignment might be an issue. It's not your everyday undergraduate electronics project.

Just pay the money and get the China people to do for you.

@faridr
What's your problem with the spec sheet again?
Reading spec sheet I do that a lot. Writing firmwares...maybe not.
*
yeah I've to admit the drilling ain't gonna be hard. but well let's see what can we do from here first. and i'll check up the faps in taobao and see what's their price. Also, in your opinion do you think we can achieve something like QFR-I with teensy 3.1? since it has more on board memory to store stuff. the hard part is obviously trying to control the leds individually. some more no EE background is a pain in the ass.

also, bro set is live now. 90usd owai for full full full set.

Got EE background also no use.
These kind of things, if you don't do it, you don't know.

You can ask many EE, they gonna stare blank if you ask them how to control Leds individually. Myself included.

I'm not sure whether you can do a QFR-I. My advice is to start small. Or you can use Proteus to simulate.
*
sad.gif seems like controlling it individually is a very deep topic. and yeah, going to start small. first, gonna try handwiring 87key phantom layout and use easy avr firmware. Then, going to design the PCB based on the matrices and hopefully we can name it LYN PEH keyboard as suggested by dadudeneverabides then only head to more advanced (whole backlit) LED stuff.

0168257061I asked GON for that quote for the 38gt+plate combo I was talking about.
After doing some math, that's still about $10 cheaper than ordering from the Sprit GB(aluminium plate, pcb pre, switches and LEDs, fully tuned and assembled).

Gotta save up now.  brows.gif

why you got 140 discount? D: that's a freaking huge cut

Sticker, lube, solder, test, tune, program...

You think easy?

On the other hand, I'll never let anyone do it for me because I like doing it.
*
I don't think it's easy at all. I would assemble on my own though. gain exp at the same time save money for moar stuff brows.gif

anyways what rune binding you mention was changed? the coordinates?

IMO, RM140 is a decent price to charge for all that. It'll take 2-3 hours for an experienced electrician to solder that many switches and test them all out.

The commands for camera look has changed somewhat. I can't remember the exact commands anymore, gotta go home see my autoexec file.
*
140 for me okay also. make it rm150 la but it's $140 :/

OK... Then, I should avoid it. I am disappointed, I really like the "looks" of it.

Anyway, any good from CM Storm?
CM Storm QuickFire XT-Stealth, http://gaming.coolermaster.com/en/products...rds/xt_stealth/
CM Storm QuickFire Ultimate, http://gaming.coolermaster.com/en/products...ckfireultimate/
These two have any big problem like the Corsair K70??

I would prefer LED MKBs that without fancy buttons everywhere... Any suggestions?

Thanks!
*
you can always wait for quickfire rapid-i if you can wait and if TKL layout is okay for you. :3

HHKB lite 2 is a membrane keyboard.
So, your end game is no more mechanical but u back to membrane keyboard.
Ok.
*
I wasn't serious about it lol. the Kappa at the end means a sarcastic remark to my statement. i think dadude will know about this

anyways, end game for sure topre. still yet to decide whether which one to aim. but end game for sure not anywhere this year.

Any comments on the HHKB2 layout? Is it better as what most of the people said? How long it took you to get used to the layout?

HHKB lite is membrane bro... Get the pro.

Real man's keyboard is Topre/Buckling Spring. Topre is like typing on REAL cloud of bewbs. So soft and yet so bouncy and responsive.
Agree. Browns is like my bare minimum now until lightsaver arrives.
Hehehe... Up to you bro... When you want it, lemme know.
Can't help you two. Besides, Topre needs 2 weeks to go from "Errr...." to "Hnngggghh OMGWTFBBQ whyamisostupidtonothavetriedthisi'llneverneedanotherkeyboard"
*
you wanna get together? brows.gif

But here comes the problem; which one to get? realforce? leopold? hhkb?

but definitely might not be this year. this year's things to get roadmap:

TKL [Done, need spray some more]
60% [75%]
WC my rig

I put realforce and HHKB together because I hate 60% boards and I like my winkeys (multitaskers FTW!). Any questions?

p/s: already have a Realforce.
*
Any complaints for type heaven? The price is good la but is there any catch to it?

Novatouch will have even lousier keycaps. Ok maybe just as bad as typeheaven.

Only logical thing to do with a novatouch is to buy it, harvest the stems, and say hello to realforce+MX keycaps. Hnggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
*
or get novatouch and use PBT sets

don't need to get novatouch just to harvest stems IMO.

wait for qwerkeys on the stems. IINM qwerkeys and matt3o are working on stems but not working on it together
