WTF.... didn't know RA1.0 was so cheap. Considering the current cost of GBs in geekwhack...

Well, at least now I and closing in on the end game, I envision only another three possible purchases;
1. Novatouch full sized/MX Topre hybrid slider.
2. Full set tsangan keycaps for my baby Realforce.
3. IBM Buckling Spring keyboard for my parents.

Still buying ar tongue.gif
I end game since RF 55G. That's the last.

Pending that Duck Eagle to arrive, and probably keep or sell off.

I would say no to that.
Freakishly hard to get, freakishly harder to even get rid off once you are sick of it.

Easy saja. Just go talk to people, friend friend them.
The problem is when your wallet empty, then you will regret ever finding these niche items within an already niche hobby.

As usual, all CM Storm peripherals comes with gold plated USB connector that is less prone to oxidation and it'll stay shiny for a very long time.

rclxms.gif
Yeap that's what it does, let it stay shiny for a long time. Did you check whether they gold plate just the outside or the internal connectors as well? The outside is for grounding, gold or no gold plate, it makes jacksh1t difference for conductivity.

Would a full WYSE fit on a 84 key WKL? I'm still not that good with the different layout keycap sizes.

You are talking about normal wyse or wyse dsa?
Wyse dsa you are good to go.
You need moogle kit for the normal wyse

to the one u trying to troll me that moogle kit was named after mooglestiltkin, i read on deskthority and it was named by 7-bit.  whistling.gif
*
It was so because moogle proposed it in the massive r3 group buy. Then 7bit just name it so because moogle proposed it.

Man, i have been playing with keyboards for too long. This was back in jun/july 2011.

Word of caution to the soldering kaki.
Safety goggles saved my eyes today.

I was working on a keyboard and those pesky little things called eutectic solders. The kester 44 equivalent if you may. Flows like water, but the flux blow up like bombs. All the time I have those spots of flux on the PCB and they are troublesome to clean. Well, one solder joint with unmelted flux blew up and I was a little too close. A speck of solder hit my safety goggles. Thanks to the safety goggles, my eyes are safe.

Remember to buy one. It is very cheap

What's a good place to get a mechanical keyboard in Singapore? I just poisoned my friend to get a Poker II but ordering online from Taobao / Amazon either takes too long or too expensive. He's leaving for a business trip in 2 weeks so it'd be great if he could get it locally.
*
Get from taobao is cheaper.
If you order now, can get within a week.

KMAC copy much?
Though honestly, there's only so many ways you can design a keyboard that is minimalist.

The guys at Tex did a great job thinking outside the box.

I spy White FILCO tongue.gif

buy kmac and sao gong.
No need think so much about GON.

GON probably have some over engineered plate design with grooves. Adds processing step and cost without adding much value. That was during GON 60%. Not sure what he is doing now.

If you have a KMAC, you wouldn't give a bother about Filco's 'up' arrow misalignment.
The KMAC, though does not have misalignment, has weird tolerances that makes removing F-Row keycaps a pain in behind.

Can't tell the quality diff between Leopold and FILCO other than the ones pointed out.
I'd pick one and go with it. Both are good quality keyboards.

But you see this dupe is busybody about Filco vs Leopold. Question asked in the first place is Filco vs Ducky.

Such display of attempted cleverness...

Does Ducky still have the weird misaligned escape key?

recently bought a ducky zero shine, blue switch, yellow body, korean version

this is my first ducky, previously I use Daskeyboard, and more previously i use razer blackwidow

I want to say, the quality of ducky zero shine is not very good, maybe because it is made in china.

1) not every key sounds the same when pressed, some are more clicky, some are less
2) the spacebar is not clicky at all, very mushy
2.1) the seller explains that it is because the key is big while the switch is small, that's why
2.2) but when I test his demo unit in his shop, the spacebar very clicky, so... his explanation above does not sounds valid...
Overall I would rate ducky similar to razer, while Daskeyboard still the best quality.
This is only based on the ducky zero shine which is made in china, not applicable to the ducky shine 3 which is made in taiwan
*
Need to mod the big keys to slightly improve the clicks and make everything smoother.

I quick question to Poker II owners.

If I want to clip my stabilizers, I do need to desolder the switch, right?
*
For poker ii , just desolder the individual switch associated to the stabilizer.

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jul 29 2014, 12:45 PM)
This is how you gain experience.
Always test stab first next time before mounting all the switches  laugh.gif
*
QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Jul 29 2014, 12:49 PM)
haha yea, thats the downside of pcb mount stabs coz need to desolder all switches to access the stabs if u use a plate.
some new plate have cut out to allow stabs to be removed by just desolder one switch, that would be easier.
*
Thats not the downside of the pcb stab. It is a stupid design decision made by the koreans to use pcb mount stab on keyboard plates which needs you to desolder everything before being able to do anything. If you have a plate mount stab on plate keyboard, just desolder individual switch.

Because PCB Mount stab simply gives the best feeling compared to plate mount.

Plate mount stabilizer go under the plate, not coming out from top.
You still need to desolder to access the stabilizer.
*
Let you try WYSE keyboard with plate mount see. You can't tell the diff.

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Jul 29 2014, 10:32 PM)
Yup, the design of plate by korean didn't take such issue into consideration before. Even some still argue if doing extra cut out to allow removable stabs by just desoldering individual switch will affect the rigidity, but imo that only affect thin acrylic plate; steel, ss aren't by much.
*
Rigidity laugh.gif
Korean over-engineering.

Nobody complain about Ducky rigidity pun
