I never know why these pests love to linger around my 360. Once they have kaput my Altec. So, I never want these pests to destroy my 360. Do you guys have any idea. Racun and everything seems never stop them. The next thing is.. am going to clean up my room entirely.

Now my laptop is even getting those red ants all over. Everyday have to spray insect killer.

Perhaps this is a new breed of red ants in malaysia that likes to breed/move-around electronic stuffs.

Red ants? Weird. Call the exterminators. Make sure there's nothing around your room that may attract ants

Usually ants are attracted to sweet stuff or living things, right?

How can a laptop or a game console have any of that?

And i double-checked my laptop and it's super-clean. But the ants stil love it.

Mind you it's only a specific breed of red ants that does this.

Not those big red ants you see on trees outside or black ants.

These are small red ants (quite tiny) and they are really a pest to electronic stuffs.

Red-electronic-loving-ants outbreak. Maybe the electric/magnetic fields are attracting them. Do they crawl around with the devices on or off? Or both?

They are around even when the electronic stuff is on and off. At first, i thought it was the heat that attracted them. But at one moment, the ants infestation became even more when the electronic stuf was off. Really disgusting even to look at them. Uggh.

The good thing is, if there are people using the unit (like my laptop) all the time, they tend to go away. If they have planted some eggs with the queen around, they will move the eggs out too.
Talking about this even makes me feel disgusted.

sweet stuff eh. there's no sweet stuff around my 360. yeah. that tiny red ants. not those big ones. that tiny little stupid ants. real angry and weird. why not on my PS2 and Xbox. Only on my 360. hmmmm.

Seriously an old school method to lutr out red ants is get some raw meat, cover it in some liquid sugar.

When the ants come and have their meal you attack...

No quit laughing, this method maybe unorthodox but it worked...

hmmm. that method is quite dirty la kawan. meat ans sugar. hahaha. not a good combination. but then I agree it'll work but not just quite suitable for me.

My grandma told me, boil hot water then add chillies and onion. pour them on the place where you never want any ants. not on my xbox i say.

i see, that small red ant rite? they don't byte, but they r everywhere, my speaker dah jadi victim, my laptop also, they make sarang while i gone kampung, when back home and bukak my laptop, the fan stuck a while, then alot of them came out, with their quens

it is called clove. btw, i find out that these red ants love electronic devices. what attracts them remain mysterious. Discovery Channel has one show on this.

Well one way to rid your problem is hust by freezing the critters.

Look at it this way put your 360 in a cold location and ants will freeze or get too cold and leave the area.

Just a suggestion hopefully freezing your 360 wont cause any long time harm...

Many people still think its the discharge or (fan smell etc) of the 360 that attracts them.....

Clove
Cili Kering
Lada

Grind all of these materials. The powder is to be soaked in the water. Toss the, you need the water only. You need brush to apply this mixture where those ants will crawl.

Voila no semut at all.

Wash your hand after that if not, pedas ooooo.

This is temporary measure until you find a way to kill all of the ants.

spray jer shelltox.. sumpah mati.. kalau tak pun.. spasms.. haha.. or try using ant baits.. the one that looks like a small house wit poison in it.. like the one u use fo cockroach..

i used to have one nest of small red ants living in my battery charger as well. wad i did is open up the casing and vacum the hell out of them.

a better step would be, go ACE Hardware and buy Terro Ant Liquid ( something like that , but confirm the name is Terro )

put some around the place where the ants hang around and u could see them coming out to devour on the liquid. they will bring it back to their nest.. and it would spear and kill all of them works very well for me .

Yeah. Thanks for the tips. I know this might be a boric acid which will cause the entire colony to dead. I am about to make my own ant killers with sugar, yeast and Boric Acid. This info. will make my life easier. Thanks Kawan.
