Hi, new 618 user here, 5d old only K618i rocks, and MyPhoneExplorer is great fun!

I'm not sure if I understand ur 1st question correctly, do u mean u hv problem transferring files using Myphoneexplorer? If it is, I think I hv similar issue with MPE, as MPE doesn't just allow drag n drop file transfer and deleting files in MPE requires pressing a button on the phone to confirm.

I even had my phone hang once when deleting a whole folder full of 10-15 files from MPE, as i kept pressing the 'Yes' button on the phone and it just can't stop vibrating and the app hanged. Had to remove the batt to stop it.

Anyway, I bypass this problem by using the BlueSoleil bluetooth utility, no problems in moving files with it.

I wish the MPE has a 'speakerphone' button on screen so we don't hv to touch any phone button when answering calls with speakerfon.

Oh, btw, my batt can't last even 2 days. I don't talk much, maybe 30-40min a day but i play music for about 1 hr, and spend 1-2hrs transferring files with bluetooth. Is that about normal batt life?

My old T630 used to last 3-4 days b4 charging but then I only used it to take calls about 30min a day only, and bluetooth is off, since my BT headset spoiled few months ago.

So far only black is available. Saw a white dummy set, it is beautiful, if white is available I wld've got it 2 weeks ago.

Seriously now, anyone find the battery life too short? Today the batt habis again and it was only 36 hrs since the last full charge, this is something! I search all over the internet and cldn't find the spec on battery life, all the review sites are silent about the battery life.

Anyone?

No I didn't play games with it but I do play with the settings, menu and download upload files with bluetooth all day long lah, heheh Lazy to use USB cable.

I suppose if I stop fiddling with the phone the batt can last longer.

The MPE software also monitors the phone setting n battery in the background so i think there is bluetooth transmission going on all day while it is connected to my PC.

Or maybe I didn't set the Powersave Mode in Bluetooth setting on? Powersave OFF is only needed when we use more than 1 BT device. Is yours On or Off?

I just have this nagging suspicion the dealer didn't give me a new battery or the battery is no good.

The lense in K618i is not that great.

If u take a scenery photo and blow it up on a monitor screen to the actual size of 2MP, u can see detail definition is poor, trees leaves, especially pine trees will become blurred. Compare that to a proper camera or even a camerafon with proper optics(like those phones Zeiss or Leica lenses) and u'll see the difference. But for close up shots in bright lights, it is still barely acceptable.

Hahaha, found the reason why my phone batt can't last long.

As I suspected, when MyPhoneExplorer is on, it monitors the phone actively for incoming calls, SMSs, and keeps track of batt level on the PC, so the bluetooth on the phone is always connected to PC and transmitting constantly ,the bluetooth icon on the phone will show that. When MPE is off, the standby time increased a few folds, using only 5-10% of batt life over 24 hrs instead of >50% batt life during work hours with MPE on.

I prefer not to connect by USB as USB ports on my laptop is limited and not very stable due to some reason, will get the laptoon fixed then only will use MPE actively.

MyPhoneExplorer is a 3rd party software, why do u want to run it all the time? As I mentioned in my previous post, batt life will decrease significantly if u leave the phone's BT on AND run MPE on your computer. MPE will monitor ur phone all the time, u will see the BT icon on the phone ON all the time. That means the phone's bluetooth is transmitting as long as MPE is running. Turn off ur BT or MPE and u will extend the batt life to at least 2.5-3 days.

K618 can search multi alphabets, but it searches only 1st alphabet for the first name of contact, if u typed a second alphabet it looks for the last name, neat eh? e.g contact: John Lim, u key in J, it displays the first contact with J in front, Jane Tan, if u key in JL, it displays John Lim or Jennifer Lopez, which ever u have. But if u key in Jo, it will came up with Jane Ong instead of John.

The crystal cases I used sucks!

I've gone 3 cases already, 1st one the corner clip broke so i change to another case, different supplier so design is slightly different. 2nd and 3rd cases both cracked in the middle when i keep the phone in jeans front pocket.

I can't find silicone case for K618 yet, anyone found it? I actually prefer those black pvc or leather cases.

Screen protector - can use K610's, but the corner is slight rounder so it doesn't cover 100% of K618i screen, but can do lah.

Hi, today went shopping at the Curve, also saw it at Novacell. Sales girl said Rm25, probably after discount, with free screen protector also. Got black or white colours.

Didn't buy, isn't Rm25 still kinda expensive for a piece of phone condom?

Does Clareen carry this item? How much? Is it Rm6.50 like the others? If it is, I wan one! or two!

R35 is cool. Can use those standard headphones if u can find one with better qualify sound. HBH-DS970 doesn't support plug in headphones, that's the only thing holding me back from getting HBH-DS970.

I'd like to get those noise cancelling headphones for use during flight or in other noisy places... and also plug in to listen to mp3 with K618i, actually I don't use the mp3 function that much, but a headset with good sound sealing properties like Sony's walkman headphones will make conversation in noisy places much much better. The ori headset with K618i sucks.
