Me too. Not that particular about SOT. As long as my N5 last me from morning till evening (typical daily routine), then it is good enough. Before going to bed, off it goes to the Qi charging pad.

True. As long as it last whole daytime (call, sms, whatsapp, a couple of web pages, tons of emails), then it's good enough. Longer SOT is just an added perks. If there's a good kernel, etc to extend the mileage, then why not.

Done. Sideload 4.4.4. Nothing changed visually. Pure important security patch.

So far (5hrs++) the LTE signal bar looks like consistently stable. Full bar throughout those hours. Previously, occasionally it do fluctuate. Just based on visual observation. Not backed by any hard statistics.

Let see in a day or two and in different areas.

An update back to back in a very short time - definitely must be very important security issues being patch. Do you want your phone being left with serious security issues?

True. A so called smart watch that hardly usable without a smart phone. The price should be max 1/2 of the smartphone itself.

Try to make full use of your smart watch with your smart phone switch off / out of range. Not much can be achieved. Of course it still can tell you time, but all those nice weather updates, navigation direction, email notification is gone.

But, if the price is right, I'll buy Moto 360 to be paired with my Nexus 5 Interesting 'cool' factor at play. And to add up to my watch collections (more than 10++ and growing, hehehehe)

While waiting for Moto 360, have you ever wonder how hot you battery is while charging?

I've use this app BatteryView Free to plot the temperature against battery level. Can export the data to CSV file.

What I've discovered is, my Nexus 5 charge hotter with wireless Qi charging (I use LG WCP-300) compared to normal micro USB (AC mode with LG 1.8A adapter).

Using wireless charger, the temp can shoot up to 43C. The question is - is it good for battery longevity? 40C is max temp as printed on our Nexus 5 battery.

True, nowadays, smart phone rarely last beyond 2 years. What worries me is, prolong high temp, since I left my N5 on wireless charger before going to bed. Picking it up the next morning before going to work (7-8 hours on the charger). It it is just a momentary spike of high temp, it might be okay. Hopefully it doesn't lead to premature battery cell death. Let see in 6 month time (my Nexus 5 is less than 1 month old).

Just a thought. The convenience of wireless charging vs battery life (due to extra heat generated while charging)

Of course it is riddled with bugs. It's a developer preview. It is not meant for daily consumption. Not yet.
