Just completed installing auto-dimming rear view mirror on my lala.
Here's the auto-dimming mirror I bought: This mirror has 2 sensor, first sensor is facing the road to sensor day/night time. Second sensor is facing the rear to sensor strong light from rear. I noticed that my original rear view mirror is using camlock mount: If I'm not mistaken, original Lancer windscreen is using wedge mount. Proton windscreen use camlock mount... those with original Lancer windscreen can help me to confirm. However, due to being cheapskate, I sourced for cheapest option so I bought a wedge mount mirror and a converter adapter: Being cheapskate has a price to pay Unfortunately the converter adapter does not fit just like that. I have to saw off the corner of it due to the RLS sensor blocking the way and also have to trim the inside in order to mount it - you got to have proper tools to do it because the whole adapter is made of solid steel. Here is what it looks like after fitting the adapter: Now the wiring part. The auto-dimming mirror that I got is the most basic version, means it doesn't come with other fancy features like compass, temperature, map light, homelink, etc... So only need to connect 2 wires, one for +12V and another for ground. For the +12V, I'm tapping the power from accessory socket, as shown by the "red circle" in the picture below. For ground, I simply connect to the closest metal body I can find, "white circle" in the picture below: Finally here is the result: The mirror hasn't dim yet... once dim the color will change to dark green. |

Went for 2nd service today and Proton charged me Rm249 for 4L+1L PETRONAS Syn1000 oil. First 1k service used Syn800 and asked to come back after 10k mileage. This round they said must use Full Syn oil if want to service every 10k. Semi oil must service every 5k. Got no choice to use full syn coz do not want to return so often
