QUOTE(tiensong @ Jul 24 2014, 01:32 PM) Cant decide to go with ARHD or DN3 rom now. But anyways, thanks for the heads up. Time to toss coin. LOL QUOTE(ongdennis @ Jul 24 2014, 01:49 PM) my friend solve this issue by installing the AGNI kernel and been using the rom more than 220 hours without the memory issue. maybe u can have a try on that. So its more like kernel issue? AGNI works for it? Maybe I should give a try for this one and see how it works. Somehow kinda lazy to flash and do restoration.According to him, no any special setting being done on the kernel. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jul 24 2014, 04:31 PM) DN3 got that memory issue as well. i recall someone told me back then... Phoenix also same. need to reboot after a few days else everything become s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n on the phone. Just downloaded both ARHD & DN3. so, gave up and went back to 'stock'. now using ARHD. very happy with it. So far have you encountered weird bugs / issue with ARHD? Sounds promising. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jul 24 2014, 05:33 PM) Personally I moved on to Mi3. I dont think I wanna spent another 2K on phone that are running almost the same hardware as last year. Kinda have the same thought after seen RedMi Note spec in term of specs vs price ratio, and the add on the dual sim what I'm quite in need for that. Basically a simple day use smart phone that capable for data tethering OTG, call in call out, IM and so. But the down side is the MIUI and unable to swap rom. I'm still thinking to jump or not to jump. Mi3 user interface maybe a bit annoying at first, if you are used to Samsung TW UI. Its closer to iOS than TW or other Android launcher. You will be missing some of the features exclusive to Samsung such as swiping to call/message in Phone/Contact app for example. Palm swipe for screenshot. In return, you also will enjoy the FHD screen, speed etc. I prefer Mi3 because its much lighter, better for 1-hand operation and cheap. I dont even care to slap a screen protector. |

Hi guys, just a quick question about kernel (my first attempt in flashing).
Currently on Phoenix 18.8 and I wanna go with AGNi kernel. Thus I flash through Phliz recovery. But its given me this msg below at the end of the flashing: "set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed" After reboot and went check under system status, the kernel still unchanged and remained as Phoenix custom kernel instead of AGNi. Any idea? EDIT: Issues fixed. Found out is my recovery version is lower then requirement. Upgraded and flash flawlessly. This post has been edited by fylon: Jul 28 2014, 12:37 PM |

Been two days straight without restart and still going good. Seems the AGNi kernel does fixed / overcome the sudden hanged due to memory overflow issue.
To those wont using Phoenix 18.8 and want to have a peace of mind, might consider to swap the build in tamirda kernel to AGNi for better performance. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 8 2014, 11:55 AM) honestly, with Note 3... i didn't think it was impressive enough for me to jump ship. so i stayed with my trusty note 2. Very true indeed.with this coming Note 4... i think its still the same. nothing impressive that will make me really crazy about it. and worse... i fear its going to have even more bloatware... KNOX, Hubs, health apps (that i don't need), UV sensor (which I don't want)... the only thing is... the PEN... which i already have on my Note 2. Samsung seems to be forgetting the fact that the s-pen makes the Note truly unique. however, they don't seem to be capitalizing on this fact. hardly anything refreshing on the pen. and i just wish... Samsung would spend their marketing money porting over this game called OKAMI. seriously... its really good and can do with the pen. OKAMI on the Wii was a superb experience which i feel can be replicated on our Note. N2 still suffice for normal usage as in call, text, surfing, light documents editing on the go. I came from S3 and I've stuck with N2 for more than 18 months now, still I don't see needs of changing (beside dual sim & LTE) function. Samsung should focus on usability on their note series instead of highlight those crap function / sensors IMO. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 11 2014, 09:00 AM) true, but the pen can still do a lot more. i mean... more gestures, refined apps and widgets... Kinda feel that S-Note way too heavy although it comes with comprehend function such as sketch, draw and so IMO apple's build in note are the best (personal preference).take s-planner WIDGET... i can't hover my s-pen over it to view detailed info. i can do that with the email widget. and s-note... something we love and yet hate... its good but 'closed' system. and the fact that when i update the apps from Samsung Apps/ Hub... i get two dem copies of it (old version vs new version). Samsung can surely do with some refinements in this area. they need to know that the next battle will be fought on the software battle-field, not hardware. Perhaps more enhance & refine the S-pen function. But anyways, don't think there will be anymore new stuffs for N2 since Kit Katt will be probably be the last. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 14 2014, 09:04 AM) but i thought on screen... these days... its just three dots that you can put "top top" any screen... no? Exactly, that is what I mean. Why not just remove the physically button and use only the touch sensitive panel. But then, nothing much we user can say since Samsung want to make it that way.but ya... i agree they should just remove that home button. then again... Samsung's strategy in the past has always been to take on Apple. physical home button is still needed to give Apple converts the feeling of 'home' (on their iPhone). also, a friend explained to me why a physical button is still useful -- older folks may have problem understanding how on screen or even capacitive button works. with a physical button... they have nothing else but to press the button. P/s: My miNote coming anytime on this week, not sure will I make a jump a not. |

Been away from N2 since Sept and jump to OPO, but my girl still fancy her N2 til now. Wonder if anyone can suggest me an up to date & also a stable ROM for N2?
Somehow Phoenix seems heavy, and not sure how's ARHD performs. But it seems Dr. Ketan v14 is doing good. Is it worth a go? |
