What is custom ROM all about actually.
It doesn't give significant differences with the stock ROM. If want custom for the sake of theme then go download launchers from app store. If your phone is laggy and battery weak, custom ROM won't make much difference. Just upgrade your phone when the time comes and save yourself from all the headache and problems this custom ROMs are giving unless u are a tech wiz who has time or an expert. Just my 2c and experienced user |

QUOTE(sanderz @ Jun 10 2014, 01:38 PM) Haha DN3 ROM already comes with Galaxy version SketchBook Pro. LoL This is coming from a pro Custom ROM = Either add fancy fancy features, or stock look with performace. But of course la, adding fancy fancy features will consume more battery and slow down the phone. Or the custom ROM is not optimised can also be power hogging too. Average users like me who just want a phone to call and fully functionable shouldn't think about custom ROM |

QUOTE(radiohear @ Jun 10 2014, 10:22 PM) hi guys..its worth update to kit kat? hi,there should be no problem with this update kitkat .in fact i feel my phone is faster then ever ! maybe im just lucky.there's no error with the sd card.i sked if it will lag my note 2.. or give problem..and i dun want do a fully reformat.. thx. but my opinion is , if u are satisfied with your current version then don't upgrade. many of those who are contented with their current version but update for the sake of showing off turn out to be disappointed. the moral of the story is don't be greedy and stick to what u have if u are already contented with it .tq |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 11 2014, 10:21 AM) well, i'd have to say i can't really agree. I see...ok I understand your situationi was happy with the original OS that came with Note 2. samsung updated the OS and removed some useful stuff *ahem* pop up browser. anyway, the new OS was also not to my liking. and it didn't bring some of the Note 3 features. so for me, the upgrade was to get some features. unfortunately, my expectation of a 'stable' OS can be quite different that what others have... another reason for me to try custom OS is to reduce the bloat. seriously, some stuff was taking too long, even like reboot. plus, i really don't have need for KNOX, Game Hubs, etc... but they take up space. i rather NOT have them i'm still hoping i can find a stable OS that has what i need and removes what i don't need. customisable installation of custom OS (like using Aroma) is quite nice. but... i've yet to find a 'stable' OS. probably try my luck with phoenix next week and then decide again from there. Then I may suggest ARHD (android revolution HD) It is currently the best and most stable rom. its exactly like your stock rom but only enhanced speed and battery life.look it up ! I had to remove this rom because there was some problem signing in google play. but if u know how to do it should be no problem. |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Jun 11 2014, 01:47 PM) Sorry , dont generalized men just because your friends do so . My friends couldn't give a damm what version , phone or even IOS are we using . They dont care if their phones lags and need 2 do some tweak . Lag ? Easy , trade in and get other models . Batt life sucks ? Get a powerbank . There are other things in life more important then sitting around a mamak , talking about " My phone got 4.4.3 liau , u dont have le ? " .... LAME sial then u have cool friends.today's trend everyone updates for the sake of showing off.latest phone, latest design, latest snapdragon, gold edition, etc etc ,for what purpose ? keeping in the pocket ?I dont get it , if it's the best and most stable rom , it should be straight forward signing in to google play . . So now there seems to be a problem and u removed it , still the best and most stable ? IF a simple sign in also got problem , it's definitely NOT stable dont u think so OR are u referring to other ROMS ? Cuz I'm confused as for the arhd rom ,i can still say its stable and best because u can check at the xda forum with positive feedback and its rated #2 in top 5 custom roms for note2. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 11 2014, 02:04 PM) agreed. if its stable, it won't really have"issues". <-- well, not 100% la... but Google Play bug thingy... seems like a big problem. forgive me as i misinterpreted. its the google that i cant sign in. its error message says ''There was a problem connecting to google servers.Try again later''and i'm also a bit confused: what do you mean? that we are forced to sign into Google Play? not an issue for me since I rely on Google/ Gmail for my contacts.... i was checking out this site... alamak, why go support Flash... heh heh... it's a dying thing and i totally agree on not supporting it. putting it there with the ROM just makes it vulnerable. Flash is so... open to malwares, etc... |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 11 2014, 04:13 PM) thanks... just went and Googled... yes ,even though its at 2012,its still rated by ''CNET" . they hardly give rating unless its officially at best.is this the page: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/top-5-custom-ro...-galaxy-note-2/ errr... heh heh... dated 2012. and those versions are dated 2012 as u said,so the current versions are even better and it keeps getting better. |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Jun 11 2014, 07:07 PM) In 2012 , there r not much choices , basically , that's all u get . In 2013 , its a different thing . There are many good roms released eg Monx , SpeedWiz , etc which made Crash , ARHD , Omega "normal" roms . U cant based your conclusion on what was reviewed in 2012 la bro , dev progresses every now and then with something new . Something good in 2012 doesnt mean it is still good in 2014 . hi bro. sometimes the oldest is the most stable.they started it back in 2012 ,until today they have develop a solid market and still upgrading their versions.they didn't abandon what they did back in 2012.check out their latest version. |
