I experienced the same thing, somehow mi3 is a bit picky when it comes to USB otg drive. Even if it managed to detect and read the drive, sometimes it can disconnect without any reason. I used the same drive on my Motorola phone, never had the same issue, the drive works each time I plug it in. With mi3, I can say that it's more on luck to get it working.

for moderate usage, 3050mAh battery in mi3 should give you around 6-7 hours of SOT. If you're on low signal coverage areas, you'll get less time. Most power is consumed by the big screen and 3G data connection apart from the cpu on performance mode.

If you bought the phone at 889 and feel butthurt, just go and find friends with galaxy s5 and tell them that a phone with similar spec as his/her has just been reduced to rm769. Perhaps that would make you feel better
